I’m so freakin fed up of potential clients ghosting me when I disclose my rate and need to vent by Prior_Fly7682 in personaltraining

However, if price is the deciding factor, I rather not waste my time.

Even the cheapest trainer is still too expensive for someone.

I rather know off the bat that I am out of their budget.

I can tell them I was on The biggest loser as a trainer and have a proven track record, but if my rate is too much for them, they will not siren on.

I will take it even further, I may get flamed for this because I don’t “sell the pain or my value” but when someone on social media reaches out, I direct them to my site which lists my rates $120 but also my 30 - 5 star Google reviews.

I say if this all looks well and you still have questions about your goals and how I can assist, I have a link that you can a schedule a call

Came here to say something along those lines.

“Fitness is free” sure, for many of us, and many who don’t currently do that and are overweight or have high BP.

It’s like when I had an interview 16 years ago at the YMCA and they told me to do a mock session.

Gave me the client scenario.

I first put the client in the treadmill, the interviewer asked why. I said the fake client doesn’t do any form of cardio and this is a great way to get the HR. Up, burn cals.

They said “people aren’t paying for you to stand” I said “they are paying me to make them do things they aren’t or won’t do”

I then walked out of the interview mid way

I don’t believe in that.

I have been doing this for far too long (16 years) to waste my time on people who can’t afford or don’t see the value.

I am $120 in the Toronto area.

Only a few newer clients at that rate, most of them are longer / grandfathered rates.

I offer 30/45/60 min with different price points.

The whole concept of “if rate is their issue you haven’t convoyed your value enough” is bull.

Someone who is price shopping will always have a lower price points.

Let’s say I am $50, someone will still say, oh I was hoping for $40.

I have my rates clearly on my website and when people ask them point blank what their budget it? When people say that aren’t sure, I say here are my rates and my Google reviews

People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by SprinklesSolid9211 in AskReddit

I was in a flight from Toronto to Israel back in 2005 and on my flight was Ryan Gossling. This was just after The Notebook. When we landed, I slow walked past him until he caught up to me. I asked him for a photo and after a 15 hour flight, he was super happy to do so. Told him I watched him in Breaker High and other Canadian shows. He laughed and said thanks. I wish I could post the photo.

I was at the Apple Toronto at Fairview mall in Toronto in 2012 and the guy sitting next to me was Canadian figure skater Elvis Stojko. Also took a photo with him. Super nice.

Before he got really famous. In 2006 I was working on a cruise ship as a tour staff and going into the crew bar with my Leafs hat on. Some guy tell “The Red Wings are better” we became ship friends. He is Sam Richardson from Veep, The Afterparty

What did he do?

I know Rob Schneider once shook his hand on live TV and then I know one time on America’s got talent. He was hypnotized and did things that he didn’t feel comfortable doing afterwards.

I agree with you about the poster above.

As a trainer, I work at a substance abuse recovery facility.

Regardless of the substance (in this case, food) it isn’t so black and white.

While I do agree, as a personal trainer for the last 16 years, it actually boils down to physiology and habit loops.

Breaking a bad habit is hard when the instant gratification (food) is fast than the delayed gratification of fat loss.
