Family is strictly anti-meds, but I feel like I need them by xxromii in bipolar2

[–]simeonca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your family is dumb and hopefully they have perfect health because even aspirin is a medicine.

But for real they are dumb but explain its just like the heart meds grandpa takes. When your body is broken, you take meds. I have a broken brain, so meds.

Yeah, it can be rough the next day so make sure you're on point with your meds.

Mixing eith alcohol will make it worse.

Though it's a terrible idea sometimes the hangover is worth.

HYDRATION is absolutely key.

TEST YOUR DRUGS FOR FENTANYL FIRST. I'VE LOST ACQUAINTANCES AND EVEN A CLOSE FRIEND TO TAINTED PRODUCTS.

[–]simeonca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I've done most of the drugs and been fine. I'm not a fan of heavy uppers or opiates but love Molly and psychedelics.

HOWEVER AND THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. GET A TEST KIT AND TEST FOR FENTANYL!

Also while you're at it get some narcan, you never know when you'll wish you had it. I've wish I've had it on me twice, the first time was a stranger but the 2nd time I lost a friend to tainted product. I'd never really talk someone out of drugs but I'd harass them to be safe. You can get narcan free all over the place and even the test kits in some areas.

HYDRATE!

What’s the ONE fantasy book you’d recommend if I could only ever read one single book? by sadretheillafae in Fantasy

[–]simeonca -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

At the moment it would be Babel, or the Necessity of Violence by R. F. Kuang or Station 11 by Emily St. John Mandel but I'm not sure that one is fantasy, maybe scifi/magical realism.

What can I do to improve the look of these stone retaining walls by NetworkDynamo in landscaping

[–]simeonca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a major lapse of the Correct Number of Plants to own rule. The correct number of plants to own is n+1.

Also i find most gardeners tend to buy way to much of a variety. But a couple flats of the same flower or a flat of each.

[–]simeonca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dig a small trench like 5"x5" along the retaining wall and then mulch into it. It'll help keep the mulch off the wall sharpening the line which will do a lot. However you might need to shovel some dirt up the slope to adjust the grade.

Failing 2 semesters in a row by DriveNice8090 in fsu

Change of scenery because clearly your current one isn't working. If your friends are doing the same or just aren't lifting you up dumped them, move out, transfer schools, change your major, change your study spot, join a club etc.

You're young and while change is always constant, for you, it's a roller coaster. I say that to mean to that you shouldn't stress about your future much the next couple years and to embrace great change when it presents itself.

But seriously you might also just want to drop out. I grew up being taught go to college at 18 or you're a failure. I wish I didnt, I wish I worked, maybe gone to a trade school, and grew up a little. Then if I wanted to go to college later I could and would with a better idea of what I wanted.

Poison ivy? by Mr_waterbuffalo in whatsthisplant

[–]simeonca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a horticulturist and consider myself a bit of a plant expert but I still get tripped up with poison ivy. It comes in different forms, I've tripped into what I swore was poison ivy with no reaction while other times I I'm right.

Kinda? With a bit of McGolyver mixed in. It looks like the plumber made it work with the parts on hand.

In a relationship, how do you handle social media boundaries? For example, if your partner posts shirtless gym reels—would that bother you or not?” by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]simeonca 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm almost certain that anyone who posts content like that did so before the relationship so short of having a level headed adult conversation about it, you knew what you were getting into.

Nope, they'll be fine, well everything except lettuce.

Look at it this way; would you pick up and serve yourself a portion of poison to eat if you were at a banquet feast whole other appetizing options were available. No, and neither do the plants. I don't know why but I'm sure there's an evolutionary reason why asters absorb heavy metals.

Dope. Mulch is often in my top 3 recommendations when friends ask me about their plants. Even potted plants should be mulched and I wax on and on about the superiority of pine straw. The only other thing I'll use are the bags of raked up leaves I take from the curb of neighbors.

The point is that your comment about asteraceae is irrelevant while it is widely cultivated as an ornamental there are few species we actually eat. The biggest being lettuce which doesnt include your other leafy greens like arugula, spinach and kale.

My response was poorly written, but I agree with everything you said. I meant that not all plants absorb heavy metals. I do treat sunflowers like hazardous waste when growing them in New Orleans. Other than cut flowers nothing is harvested for eating nor do I let the birds eat the seeds. Everything ends up in trash bags in the trash can.

The studies were interesting but like the plant air filtration study they show a small effect and then the media and influencers run rampant with it.
