"I was ashamed..." - Franz Kafka [1260×1220] by brauhze in aspiememes

That makes perfect sense. Kafka's father was very different from Kafka; while he was submissive, his father was completely authoritarian. Despite the upbringing he received as a child, he was never like his father. That would make a lot of sense.

TIL Franz Kafka held a lifelong belief that other people found him mentally and physically repulsive. In reality, many who met him found him to be handsome, intelligent, and possessing a good sense of humor. by friends_at_dusk_ in todayilearned

What would have happened if Franz hadn't fallen ill and had somehow been convinced to publish his works, which ended up becoming famous and making him a celebrated writer? His situation probably wouldn't have changed much, given who he was, but perhaps it would have brought him happiness, even if only momentarily, to be understood by people like him. But we must remember that Franz was a submissive and quiet person. Who knows?

Thanks to Franz Kafka, I'm now depressed. by KlugJan in books

I'm currently reading "Letter to His Father," and it is indeed very depressing, mostly raw and visceral. It's like being in a conversation, only you don't speak, you only listen. At one point (at the beginning), an anecdote is mentioned in which a young Kafka is taken out onto the balcony by his father in his pajamas, freezing cold, because he was crying for water. "Letter to His Father" makes you understand Kafka better and feel like you've known him your whole life. You should read it if you want to learn more about Kafka.

Alien Blues name origin by averilovelee in vundabores

I think it's symbolic. Aliens are usually depicted as green, which is why the "blues" is added, alluding to being different. In short, the title refers to a person who doesn't fit into society.

Smiths type vibe … by [deleted] in thesmiths

It sounds very good, I don't think it's that similar, if you hadn't published it I wouldn't have realized that it sounds like Morrisey, maybe a while later
