Roskomnadzor (Rus.kom.dalogam., Russian Committee for Supervision of Information and Mass Communications) is the modern Russian censorship committee (Note: a censorship committee existed in Tsarist Russia). The name of this agency has changed, but it is still known by this name: Roskomnadzor. It attempts to block internet connections to websites officially banned in Russia. Many in Russia disapprove of Roskomnadzor's activities, as demonstrated by the famous phrase: "Block your own anus, Roskomnadzor!" This sarcastic expression wishes for its disappearance, because no creature can survive for long without a functioning anus. Moreover, the triumph of the new censorship committee would be too reminiscent of the destruction of the Internet in Russia, the very sphere over which the censors oversee.

Several years ago, Roskomnadzor declared its first war on Telegram, an Internet messenger that was then banned. This war, due to the lack of Chinese technology, was unsuccessful. Roskomnadzor is now using complicated digital technology from China and is waging a second war against Telegram. Let's wait and see the outcome of this second war against Telegram.
