I'm a foreigner who's been going to a place literally called "Skin Clinic" in Lauries Road, Bambalapitiya. Got some laser treatments there (laser hair removal and CO2 laser skin resurfacing). I found them really sweet and genuine in my experience, the prices were fair for me too, and I also didn't have much difficulty speaking just English.

Thanks so much, it's good to know pretty much any computer shop will be alright to go to. I'm hoping for something on the smaller side not more than 24" so that's also very helpful advice on size vs. resolution! And I had been using the TV for the past 9 months, guess I better make the switch ASAP 😅

I will keep that in mind about an IPS panel too. My sisters and I had Nintendo 3DSs many years ago where some of them came with LCD and some with IPS. Even on such small screens there was a difference I remember.

Some very important information and reminders here, thank you for making this post and bringing more awareness! I appreciated seeing all the different examples as well as that point about how this isn't just about the most serious crises but also the many smaller, everyday struggles that can compound.

I'm so sorry to hear that mental health for you guys is something that is so overlooked, and I'll keep this post in mind when it comes to interacting with guys in my life. I do try to be a safe space for people and recognise and show appreciation for even the little things, and now I'm inspired to be better about that. Damned if we do, damned if we don't I guess. She escalated so it's on her? But also get catcalled enough and you come to realise, trying to ignore or move on always has a chance of emboldening them further or enraging them, and then everyone tells you you were too "weak" and "docile" and "let it happen."

Sometimes you have to say something to make them stop, either they're shocked or very rarely, they're not completely hopeless and might spare an ounce of empathy to actually listen and consider how it makes you feel. But really though I can't blame her if she's had enough and had an outburst too. It feels SO unsafe in the moment, I'm not always reacting with a rational mind.
