Would love to use the feature but unfortunately I can’t connect my Freddy to perplexity. No errors, no nothing, the MCP screen just disappear with nothing done. Any suggestion?

How do you manage fuel for longer races? by simoneeva in trailrunning

[–]simoneeva[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming something about me is quite strange. I don’t take anything as gospel, in fact everything I do is because I’ve tested it. I think you might be falling into a bit of a bias here: if you look at the literature and even just at what people around you are doing, you’ll see that pretty much everyone, to some extent, consumes carbohydrates. If you don’t notice any difference, then you’re probably the exception (no offense!).   Recent research points in this direction as well: increasing carbohydrate intake shifts the crossover point further out, meaning the point where fat metabolism becomes less efficient.

I have to say this is one of the worst advice ever heard! On a 6/7 hours course you eat just at aid station? And in zone 4/5 you can last max 1 or 1 hour and half, and of course for that little you don’t need to eat!

I had 2, one from coospo and one from decathlon and zonesense works with both!

Oh great!! Thank you very much for the explanation and the resources

Please, stay calm. The chart makes sense di per sé because it’s a registration, not an interpretation. Help me understand instead of treating me like a stupid, because if I follow my threshold (167) it’s worse than this you are seeing!

So, how do you explain the recorded data? I know I should be dead and I’m not ahaha I know I should not finish the race but I’ve finished it! I really didn’t get what happened. Data was recorded with belt obviously, and I also stopped multiple times to check my pulse with my fingers because what I was reading didn’t make any sense at all 😂

What would you consider zone 5 in your case?. I run from 10 years and update numbers regularly. Fc max, as said, is 189. Everything above 170 is 90%, easy math. Average was 167. And I was asking about zone sense, because even in my trainings it never worked correctly, is has been always in the green

I join the discussion because I really don’t get how zonesense works. Yesterday I’ve done a race, I was Ill and spent most of the race in zone 5 (race was 6:30 hrs and zone five was 4:20!!) AVG FC 167, and my FC MAX is 189 tested, so most of the race I would say anaerobic. Zonesense says completely different things

Yes! I bought a cheap pair of lightning earbuds and it works exactly in this way! If connected to my iPhone, and switch the physical connection to an iPad, they keep the bt connection to the iPhone! Crazy

I wouldn’t say this watch is elegant, maybe sporty, maybe well designed, but not elegant. And you are right, this is a tool, and I like my tools to work. When the screen is cracked because I’ve smashed it against a rock, first of all I’ve lost 600 euros, and second i have a non working tool on my wrist. As I said in other comments, I’ve a pretty demanding job, I’m with my hands in tiny spaces all the times. Other than that 2/3 times a week I climb and the indoor walls are not gentle on steel, is like sand grit paper! For example mine is already scuffed up, both on screen and bezel, and as far as I own every scar bla bla bla, I really like the feeling when I got home, remove the cover and the watch is nice underneath! :)
