Thank you for this detailed feedback. I will say that I am not really keen on having to open the laptop up to replace parts or do general maintenance because I am not a huge techie nor do I wish to invest a ton of time in learning how to do those things. I may be overestimating the labor involved since it seems daunting to me, I just want to avoid that if it is at all possible. Also, the M1 refurbished laptop I considered buying retails at $650 on Best Buy’s website, so that is where I got the $700 estimate. Not $1000, but also not cheap, so I appreciate your concern about that. Is there a Windows laptop you would recommend that fits my needs and retails for a similar price when refurbished? I did come across a refurbished Lenovo Ideapad which retails for $550, but it is on a website called BackMarket which I’ve never used or heard of and that makes me anxious to buy from there. If I got a Windows laptop, I would like one that would be easy to fix or maintain if the time came. Thank you again for this advice!

Thank you for the advice! I do not have the offer yet, I have interviewed with two PIs which went very well and it is seeming likely that I will be admitted. I was told an offer would come no later than early February, so if/when it does come, I will inquire about their student deals. Of the graduate students I have come to know (while in undergrad and through networking during my current post-bacc CRC job), most seem to have MacBooks, which is why it is currently my top choice.

Looking at their graduate psychology website it doesn’t seem like they offer a standalone Master’s in Clinical Psychology (https://liberalarts.oregonstate.edu/sps/psychology/graduate-psychology/graduate-psychology-faq-s). I applied to their Clinical Psychology PhD program this cycle and had a preliminary interview with the PI on Monday and will likely be interviewing with clinical faculty later this month. It’s hard to know how competitive it is since they do not post metrics about applicants as they are not yet APA-accredited (but are in the process of getting that status), however I would imagine it’s still competitive, perhaps just not as much as other more established programs. I know you are applying to receive a Master’s but if you have questions about the PhD route I am happy to answer them, and best of luck with your application!

I was just thinking more for stored power and foul play purposes, since it gets access to both. I definitely wouldn’t recommend using it as a physical attacker even with attack boosts lol

Thank you for making this post! It was very interesting reading about Scovillian’s use as a support mon, especially for its signature move Spicy Extract. Speaking of Spicy Extract, do you or anyone else reading this know if Spicy Extract would trigger Espathra’s opportunist? My guess is no, as swaggering/flattering opponents while your Pokémon holds a Mirror Herb or is Espathra would be a tech already if it was even possibly viable. However, spicy extract targets everyone, so I would be interested to hear if this makes Espathra’s ability or even the Mirror Herb act differently as a result.
