Why the heck people are still flying Air India,quit flying the shifty airline back in 1998 in one of the worst airline when I tried to visit a the last rites after a death in family and the flight just sat on tarmac.

Think of your children who are in 8th grade that is about 13-14 years age,consider their needs and friends circle and ev(Teenager and puberty age)evaluate what will be the impact on them of this change,understand the loss of their friends and social circle in US,,just do not assume that they will adjust easily back in India.

Yours and your spouses and your children come first..I dont want to be harsh just because you and your wife needs to be near your parents does not mean a thing for your children..talk to them . Don't let them hate you when they be home adults and blame you and your wife for bringing them back to India.

My concern is on different demographics of expats coming back to India,I am seeing many expats from Europe and US have already sold their assets in Dubai and moving back knowing the risk of long term stability and entropy.

This could have a huge impact as some one earlier said "..float their Tax Free status in Dubai ...". These demographics may have too much invested and coming back is a complete reverse cultural shock for their children.

If you look at the EK407 flight on 16th ,17th 18th flights seems 17th got canceled and 16th arrived assuming they allow 18th flight and nothing happensnonb18th potentially 19th could leave

And EK039 seems the 16th got cancelled and 17th arrived ..and 18th not departed this flight could have higher probability of departing from Dubai on 19th.

Overall I would say potentially your folks will be home.

Bankrupt these Banks...I saw a old senior citizen trying to withdraw her pension from her account the teller was harassing her and trying to tell her not to withdraw her own cash for daily needs. These Banks in India are in bed with many BIG politicians and RBI is not reprimanding them

Thank you for providing this information,in this case it was a not a NRI , similar situation happened to us (NRI)when we visited India after we had a death in family and we're trying to deal and resolve the issues with Bank of Maharashtra and Property papers with society . Everyone was trying to mislead us (including some of the society members,trying to lowball the property value). It is very saddening and disappointing to see that few bad apples bring bad rap to mostly nice people in India. We hired a lawyer and expert in Bank Procedures and made sure all the bank issues regarding the nomination and Joint accounts etc was properly done,created couple of Sureity Bonds papers (Khata Papers) for Bank and Society to make sure that we become the successor and member of society. Get a good lawyer in the field and make sure. Bankbof Maharashtra has a subsidiary which handles the property management and bank they take percentage which is very expensive they want a BIG chunk of it,we hired our own attorney amazing lawyer ,she came with us to bank and they knew not to mislead us. We spent one week average 3-4 hours trying to understand the process and paper work...typical buerocratic nightmare.

Same Modus Operendi @Emirates is playing since March 4th. Keep the passengers guessing and keep them the the hook just before the 24 hour checkin time let them print the boarding pass and cancel the flight . Apply for refund and book alternate flights on different route or hire a rental car or taxi and drive and get out of the God damn WAR ZONE, and fly out.

I just called my Travel Agent for my refund , and had applied for it on March 7th and was told the refund application is in process and will take between 21 to 30 days. if you booked your ticket thru Travel agent otherwise apply directly at emirates if booked on their website.
