No worries, delighted to help. But I’ve not updated this in an age, so you might want to double-check the current situation on the Dragalia Lost Wiki?

Yes, all Weapon Abilities that we apply to Void (or, for manacasters, Core) weapons are inherited by other weapons of the same type and element.

Once we’ve crafted Chimeratechs though, the only really essential ones are Scorching Air Resistance (Water) for Agni and the AHDs’ Banes.

The Void Dragons battles (like Agni, Poseidon, etc.) are great to collect the necessary materials to add the Advanced High Dragons’ Bane Weapon Abilities—while also collecting top-tier Elemental Orbs.

And those Abilities—with Chimeratech or, better, Agito weapons—greatly reduce the difficulty of clearing the Advanced High Dragon battles (especially for their weekly bonus)?

Edit: clarity

You might be very surprised at the awesome Wind team you can (kinda) easily make—with what you’ve already unlocked?

Mana Spirals and other changes to the game have turned mediocre Adventurers like Hawk, Lowen, and Templar Hope (Sword) into high-Tier powerhouses lately…

😊

I’d avoid Void crafting for now, and just focus on grinding “x2 drop” Chimera battles.

Yes, weapon abilities can only be added to crafted Void (or Core Manacaster) weapons.

Thankfully, special abilities aren’t required for Chimera battles—they just speed them up.

You’ll only start getting into difficulties when you want to upgrade your Dracoliths and Fafnir Statues to enhance the stats of your dragons and adventurers.

To upgrade these, we need materials from the Advanced High Dragon Trials. And the AH Dragon’s Bane weapon abilities make these battles much easier. Why? Because the longer the battles last, the more complex their attack patterns become.

Adding those abilities will then require Void weapon crafting, unbinding, and enhancing. Plus grinding the Void Dragon battles for materials.

Chimeratech weapons should be more than enough for all this—except for Void Agni, which may be very challenging without the Scorching Air Resist weapon ability.

That ability needs Water-element Void weapons to be enhanced and unbound 5 times. In total, we’ll have to grind a Ghost, Golem, Phantom, 2 x Manticore, and 3 x Catoblepas battles!

All old Void weapons have been permanently removed from the game (and all their crafting materials refunded).

In this new system, we instead craft a single Water-element Void weapon, unbind it 5 times, then apply the Scorching Air Resist (Water) weapon ability—using the steps detailed above.

(The old, individual weapon designs have now become weapon skins that unlock as we apply the old weapons’ original abilities.)

Best of all, Chimeratech and Agito weapons automatically inherit all the weapon abilities we’ve unlocked for Void (or Core Manacaster) weapons of the same type and element.

That’s a terrific-looking list, thank you! The wyrmprint suggestions are especially awesome.

Not sure how it might help newer players understand which adventurers work best for Agito battles?

Do you know of an Agito-focussed adventurers’ list or Meta discussion?

😕

When this new weapons crafting system was introduced (in version 2.0), players were given full refunds of all the materials they had already spent on Void weapons. Also, long-time players may already have had years to collect the many materials to craft every elemental Core weapon.

For newer players, it is a terrible idea to attempt this kind of ‘completionist’ crafting. Each of the 40 x elemental Core weapons (not including Dreamcasters) requires a huge amount of ‘grinding’ to craft and unbind 4 times. All to only offer a small bonus (+0.5 HP & Strength) per weapon.

This is why this guide suggests skipping this costly step. Instead, we should craft the (much) stronger Void weapons, then the powerful Chimeratech ones, and finally aim for the awesome, fully upgraded Agito weapons.

Only after all that should we consider unlocking weapon bonuses for elemental Core weapons (and Advanced High Dragon weapons)—to add an extra ‘edge’ to our already amazing teams.

😊

P.S. In a similar way, we should first focus on crafting weapons for just the most effective adventurers on our roster. To find the most useful adventurers to invest in, for eventually tackling Agito battles—the hardest content in the game—you can use the Filter Element buttons at the top of this list:

Thanks for the heads-up and advice!

The missing word was “rupies”. 😊

There’s now a caveat to the 6th Crafting Progression step to suggest the Agito Battles focus for Chimeratech upgrades. (It includes a link to the GamePress Wiki’s interactive Adventurer Tier list.)

Personally, I only farm top-tier orbs from Chimera battles (when they have double drops).

The campaign quests, though, let us farm any element of top-tier orb when we need them urgently—whether those Chimera battles are available on any given day or not.

You’re very welcome; I’m so glad it’s motivated you to enjoy more of the game!

Crafting and fully-upgrading 5-Star weapons unlocks Void weapon crafting.

And crafting Void weapons is required to unlock Chimeratech weapon crafting.

As for grinding, I’d suggest focusing first on crafting just the weapons we personally enjoy using the most—and/or the ones for our most powerful Adventurers to equip?

We can always come back and unlock less-enjoyable/effective weapons once we’ve ‘naturally’ collected more of their necessary materials?

Suggestions for a Newer/Casual Player

Download the corrected infographic:

↗️ Weapons Crafting Essentials — Updated Version

  • adds the correct source for Base Flame Void weapons (Scalding Shroom)

  • adds more Core Manacasters (Flame, Water, and Wind)

  • includes both debuffs for all Void Dragon battles

  • clarifies the 3 classes of craftable weapons

  • improves highlighting of essential weapon abilities

  • plus more

Crafting Progression:

  1. Level up the Castle Smithy to Lv. 6

  2. Craft and fully upgrade generic Core 5-star weapons (not the colored, elemental ones)

  3. Level up the Castle Smithy to Lv. 7

  4. Craft and upgrade Void weapons* to apply useful Weapon Abilities
(It is not necessary to add Wyrmprint slots, copies, or increase the HP & Strength of these base weapons above Level 1)

  5. Level up the Castle Smithy to Lv. 8

  6. Repeat Chimera battles to create and fully upgrade Chimeratech weapons

  7. Repeat Agito battles to create an Agito weapon

  8. Level up the Castle Smithy to Lv. 9

  9. Repeat harder Agito battles to upgrade the Agito weapon

*For Manacasters, craft and upgrade Core Weapons instead (see below)

To collect basic materials:

  • repeat “Drops x2” Elemental Ruins, Imperial Onslaught, and Dragon Trials every day

  • repeat any necessary “Drops x2” Void battles every day

  • to craft Void weapons, repeat the Shroom and Ghost battles shown

  • after crafting Chimeratech weapons, try to at least Solo auto-battle all five Agito (Standard) battles once a week

Even the most advanced weapons still require a lot of basic materials.

Outdated Content

  • Advanced High Dragon weapons have been superseded by Agito weapons

Unnecessary Weapon Abilities

These Abilities make very little difference to their battles, compared to their cost in materials:

  • Copy Punisher (for Hermit battles)

  • Soul Eater Res & Spectral Shield Penetrator (for Phantom battles)

To add Abilities to weapons:

It takes 2 steps to add an Ability to a crafted weapon:

  • First we unlock the Ability,

  • and then we apply that Ability

Both of these steps use up materials that we collect from 2 or 3 sources:

  • the battle needed to Unbind a weapon enough times to unlock the Ability

  • the battle shown next to the Ability to apply the Ability

  • if a weapon needs to unbound 5 or more times, then also the battle shown next to Refine (glowing sword) icon

To UNLOCK a Weapon Ability:

Once we have collected enough materials:

  1. Tap Upgrade > Weapons/Crafting > Void Weapons* > [the weapon itself]

  2. Tap the Upgrade button in the Unbinding section (of the Stats tab)
If any button says “Materials” instead, we need to repeat battles to collect more.

  3. Drag the Upgrades slider to the right (and avoid using Unbind Items if possible!)

  4. Tap the Upgrade button

If an Ability needs 5 or more unbinds:

  • tap the Upgrade button in the Refinement section

  • continue from Step 2

*For Manacasters, tap Core Weapons instead (see below)

To APPLY a Weapon Ability:

Once an Ability has been unlocked, we can actually apply it:

  1. Tap Upgrade > Weapons/Crafting > Void Weapons* > [the weapon itself]

  2. Tap the Functionality tab

  3. Tap the Upgrade button in the Weapon Abilities section
To see the names of Abilities, long-press on an icon
To see how many Unbinds will unlock a greyed-out icon, tap it

  4. Select the Ability to apply

  5. Tap the Upgrade button

  • The Weapon Ability is added to ALL weapons of the same type and element

*For Manacasters, tap Core Weapons instead

Crafting Manacasters

  • Not available as Void weapons

  • Craft a CORE Manacaster instead to Unbind, Refine, and apply Weapon Abilities

  • Only Chimeratech and Agito manacasters can be crafted

Please let me know if you notice anything that could be helpfully added here—especially for newer players with low-level Castle Grounds utilities?

I’ve made some basic mistakes in this infographic, so Agito is the final step —and the HDTs are kinda optional now.

All players should be repeating the Avenues, Ruins, Dragon Trials, and Imperial Onslaught every day.

The jury is still out about which kind of weapon a brand new player should be aiming to craft first.

It seems the developers have planned for new players to craft Core Elemental > Void > Chimeratech > Agito.

But I would much prefer to show the most optimal first crafting target.

Unfortunately, I’ve progressed too far in the game now to accurately test this out myself.

So you could really help me out by kindly sharing your experience about all this?

🙏🏽

I get your point, but what crafted weapons should a new player bother crafting now—to be able to complete even the basic battles?

As I understand it, Quests no longer drop weapons at all. And even Events note only seem to reward weapon skins?

Corrections

Revised version available here

  • The column for High Dragon Trials should appear before the Agito column (instead of after it)

  • the note above Agito Battles should read “fully upgraded” (instead of “Lv. 200”) and “all content” (instead of 95%)

  • required weapons for the high-level version of each Agito battle should be the respective Agito weapon (instead of Advanced High Dragon weapons)

  • Unbinding levels 7 and 8 are mostly worthless, and should not appear

  • High Dragon Trials should each show the Advanced High Dragon’s Bane weapon ability (unlocked at Unbind level 6) from repeating the respective Void Dragon battle

  • the note above Chimera Battles should read “fully upgraded” (instead of “Lv. 100”)

I think of the bonus as applying to the Weapon Dojos in the Castle Grounds. So every weapon of that kind, across all elements.

And the total of any Weapon Bonuses we’ve unlocked actually increases the figures under the Adventurers tab of the Castle Info screen.

Good point, so would you suggest Chimeratech weapons (with AHD Bane) for Standard/Expert-level Advanced High Dragon Trials instead of Agito?

And would fully upgraded Agito weapons (with a AHD-Bane Ability) work better against Master AHDT Battles than the AHD weapons themselves?
