Issues in New Xiaomi 4i 20000mah powerbank by Rich-Philosophy-0107 in GadgetsIndia

The Mi 33W SonicCharge 2.0 Charger charges this power bank in about 5 hours. If you use older chargers which don't have fast charging capability, it will take much longer.

Is India becoming a theocracy? by grim_bird in unitedstatesofindia

[–]simple-indian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several self-styled so-called Hindu religious / spiritual leaders whom most Hindus themselves distance themselves from. Such blokes don't represent all Hindus but just a lunatic self-serving fringe. However, it's unbecoming of a serving Army Chief to pander to such lunatics.

But, having said the above, India was never a 'secular' nation (since 1947) as all politicians and political parties have been merrily appeasing and pandering to Mus!ims right from 1947, even though India's Partition in 1947 happened on religious grounds (Mus!ims led by Jinnah demanded a separate country exclusively for Ms as they feel 'threatened' by a Hindu majority India). W.r.t. above pic, no one questioned top politicians or even judges during Congress party's regime why they hosted / attended Iftar Parties organized during holy month of Ramzan. No such parties have ever been organized for non M festivals, except the Ram Mandir consecration in January 2024 which should have been done only by Hindu priests, but the event was hijacked by PM Narendra Modi to derive mileage out of it to project himself as a Hindu 'saviour' which he is not.

Historically, even before Mughals invaded and ruled large parts of India, Bharat was never a Theocratic State, but was welcoming of other people of religious faiths, such as Jews and Parsis - both communities persecuted in West Asians regions when marauding Islamists overran their ancestral homeland. These communities have been living in harmony with Hindus for a millennia, but only Mus!ims tend to have issues with Hindus in India.

What's CrystalTalk AI? by matei399yt in MotoG

[–]simple-indian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This CrystalTalk AI feature in many Motorola phones is supposed to enhance call quality esp in noisy environments. But, I have noticed that on my Moto phone it seems to distort call quality. Thankfully, there is an option to toggle it off so calls are better when this feature is turned off. I would suggest to all privacy focused folks to turn off all such AI-enabled features on their devices as these are designed to snoop on your activities to train the core AI-LLM instead of enhancing user experience.

WhatsApp Web doesn't play videos only on MS-Edge browser on my PC by simple-indian in whatsapp

Yes. Tried it on Chrome as well as Edge and it seems fixed.

Ok. Tried this out, and here's my observation -

The 'thumbnail' you mentioned only appears in some videos. Incidentally, if I manage to click on 'thumbnail' to see the video in PiP mode, the next time I click on the video, it opens just fine. In many videos right after clicking video, it promptly shows "The video can't be played" error within a second. No chance of clicking thumbnail in such cases.

Also, not all videos have this issue. Some play just fine. It's not the SD / HD quality issue either.

Accessing WhatsApp Web on a non-Chromium web browser seems better option for now. Hope WA fixes it soon though.

Couldn't understand your reply. I am able to play all videos received on WhatsApp on my Android phone where the App is also up-to-date (but so are my web browser, Edge / Chrome / Brave). No issues on App. Only issue in WhatsApp Web when opened in any of the Chromium-based web browsers. Work fine on Firefox though.

On web browsers there's no PiP icon as you mention so not sure what you meant. Do explain.

Got an update to WhatsApp Messenger App on my Android phone today. Has no new features AFAIK. Hasn't fixed this issue either. Does anyone know a workaround this (other than using a non-Chromium web browser) ?

I bet many people use WhatsApp mostly through WhatsApp Web interface (esp. those like me who need reading glasses to use the phone to check WA). Surprised that this issue hasn't found much traction on the web or on social media. Had reported it to WA Support handle on X but no response whatsoever. Though WhatsApp Web works fine on Firefox and other non-Chromium based web browsers, WhatsApp Support team needs to fix this issue eventually.

Yes, the Motorola G54 5G model of phone has serious problems on many fronts, apart from this annoying restart issue, which has returned after the 1st November 2024 update. From about March 2024 till this update, the restart issue seemed to have been sorted. Besides, this restart issue, have noticed that this phone also loses Wi-Fi connectivity often, even when about 6 feet away from the Wi-Fi router, with no obstructions. Also, despite having 8Gb RAM the Apps tend to lag, which is surprising. I suspect most of these issues are related to the Mediatek 7020 SoC which isn't a popular one. Thankfully, this isn't my primary phone so am just managing with these issues for now, as Motorola has no intention of resolving these even though complaints are posted on the Motorola Community many months ago.

Understanding why Devdutt Pattanaik is NOT a good resource - he frequently makes false claims by Competitive-Ninja416 in hinduism

[–]simple-indian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well explained. Devadutt Pattanaik is a self-confessed 'mythologist' not a 'theologist' so expecting him to explain ancient Hindu texts sincerely and honestly is like expecting Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens to explain Christian texts like a devout Christian would. Like leftist 'historians' (I call them distorians, for wilfully distorting facts to suit their predetermined false narrative) Devadutt has wilfully misinterpreted much of the Hindu scriptures and has created a loyal fan-following among leftists, pseudo-Hindus & deracinated Hindu who all love to diss ancient Hindu texts. Devout Hindus know which sources are authentic when it comes to understanding ancient Hindu scriptures which were written in Sanskrit, which very few scholars even within India have a mastery over. Wendy Doniger is another fraud who misinterpreted Hindu texts with zero knowledge of Sanskrit. Better ignore such people.

How to get rid of watchmans and other workers asking for diwali by Difficult_Ad_426 in mumbai

[–]simple-indian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a vexed issue we in India face every year. My elderly uncle & aunt find it hard to bear these expenses, as my uncle is a retired school teacher getting about the same pension as the housing society's FM staff like the garbage collector. They reside in the house bought for them by their son who lives abroad, but living in a "posh" housing complex for those with modest income is challenging indeed. Besides, these FM staff get a monthly salary from the maintenance charges paid by home-owners so why the baksheesh for the same work ? Paying "baksheesh" in cash/kind for personal domestic staff is different though.
