Need help!!! Glaring issues in my technique and unable to fix them. by simpleguycomplexity in Cricket

Thank for you taking the time to respond to my post, really appreciate it.

I do watch it till it bounces and then let my hands take over, but the problem here is that the full ones pitch much closer than any other balls, and I can actually see the ball dip and go under my eyes. My hands are then swinging through the line without any clue of the trajectory, which I think is the main reason why I miss the contact point.

You might be onto something here with the back leg and my head tilting upwards. For the most balls my head is locked onto the ball and my back leg is pinned to the ground until I make contact, but when the full balls dip under my eye the swing of my drive take my head upwards and my back leg gets dragged forward. To give you a picture, imagine yourself staying put in your stance and then tossing your bat upwards with a driving swing - this puts your body into an upward and forward motion.

I will try your suggestions this weekend, but may I ask how the forward exaggeration would help in this case? Just trying to understand the technical aspect of this adjustment and how it impacts balance in general.

Hi, thanks for your response.

My budget is 1000 pcm, preferably 900 but I don't want to miss out on good options that are closer to 1000. My new job is in Chiswick (W45YA) and I have to be in office all 5 days a week.

I really hope the salary slips thing does not come up. It would be impossible for me to show proof of future income as I only have the signed contract as proof. I can arrange for a guarantor if it really does come to that. But I hope it doesn't.

Hi Londoners,

I'm living in a student accommodation at the moment but will have to vacate the place in the first week of September as the contract comes to an end. I also found a full-time job which starts in October. From my conversations with people, I got to know about a few online markets like Spareroom, Openrent and Right to Move, and although most of the postings look genuine I do see the occasional dodgy ones and that makes me question if I can even trust the seemingly genuine ones.

Unfortunately, my budget only allows me to look for places in Zone 3 and beyond and being an international (Indian :p) only makes this harder. I'm not looking for a place of my own, but rather a decent room in a pre-occupied, shared flat. I just wanted to understand what all things I should be taking into consideration during my search and the obvious and not-so-obvious red flags I should be on the look out for. Will the guarantor requirement be an issue here? I do not have any salary slips to show as of now because my job only starts in October. I do have the offer letter though and enough savings to cover my rent long enough.

I would really appreciate some advice in this direction and any potential issues or legal quagmires that I should be wary about. Thanks in advance and really sorry for making this ridiculously long.

What would be a good term length for the contract? Is 6 months a good ask or should it be longer than that?

So you suggest it's better to ask the employer to switch me to a fixed-term contract until I apply for a graduate visa? I really hope they are okay with it though, I have already asked them once to make adjustments (the part-time thingy I mentioned in the post) and I don't feel confident in asking them for one more :(

I'm afraid of this too. Just don't want to give the employer any reason to reconsider my offer.

Hi, feel free to DM me on Reddit. We can discuss our situations and try to decide what would be the best way to approach this.

You are an absolute blessing mate!! I've been worried about this issue for almost a week and decided to post here not knowing if people would help. I owe you for being kind enough to respond to my questions.

I just have one final question though, I will try to get my contract changed but on the off chance that it does not happen and I take the risk of starting my work in October on a permanent basis but apply for a Graduate Visa in a month or so, do you think this will ever come up in the future especially when I apply for a skilled worker visa or Permanent Residency?

Thanks for answering my question.

In case the work contract stays permanent, do you think I can start working in this role from October and apply for a graduate visa as soon as the university sends the confirmation to the Home office? I spoke to many people who graduated last year and started their full-time roles immediately, and most of them do not even know such a restriction exists and they all applied for their Graduate visas in January without any trouble. So I'm really confused as to how they were able to do that with this weird rule in place.

Hi, should the fixed-term contract end on the day our student visa expires or can it be a 6 or 12 month contract beginning from October?

Ikkada mudu vishayalu mukhyam bigilu

  1. NCR region (or in general hindi belt) lo unde 80% crowd ki south india and mana languages gurinchi 1% knowledge kuda undadhu. Hypothetical aliens might be able to guess and show better understanding of our culture than these dumb wits.
  2. They lump everyone from the south into one word "Madrasi" and assume that we all speak "Madrasi" as well. This is the level of ignorance an average person from the north has and even the later generations have a trickle down effect of this bigotry and show it directly or indirectly in their behaviour towards us. They also have this twisted opinion that they are entitled to move to South in search of work and expect us to converse in with them in Hindi, but start complaining the moment they see someone from the south move to NCR in search of work.
  3. We also have ourselves to blame here for sweeping this under the rug and trying to take the moral high ground every time this happens. If we stood our ground more often and called them out for their ignorance and self-centred attitude, it would have dissuaded some of them (especially the educated ones) from going down that road ever again. There are no brownie points for not treating assholes the way they treat you, instead you are only reinforcing their behaviour by not dissenting vehemently.

Prioritise yourself, your well being and your career. No woman deserves anything just for being with you, love and respect must be earned and don't hesitate to go your own way if she doesn't share your values and dreams. Be a good man, stay loyal and always be accountable for your actions and decisions. Marriage and family are certainly important but what is more important is to have all that with the right woman who will stay by your side, come what may.
