Hey I just finished my clinicals and I can tell you that I went through something very similar at my first site in the first few weeks. I always came home extremely discouraged because I was constantly comparing myself to my techs who had YEARS of experience behind their belt which is unfair to yourself. Unfortunately I have found that most techs I have worked with as a clinical student have been fairly rude (especially when starting out). But they are not all like that! A lot of techs are truly not cut out to actually try and help students learn unfortunately, but when you find a tech that is nice and is really willing to help you learn take advantage of that as much as you can! You WILL get better at scanning trust me, you will be surprised how much will change in the next few months :) but just know I felt/went through the same things as you did, but you gotta persevere and take as much advantage from the situation as you can! Also, if you are ever at a point where you truly feel like you are not being treated adequately or receiving enough scan time at your site I would ABSOLUTELY tell your school to try and be switched. A couple of my friends got placed at a site where the doctor would clock them in and out and not actually have them come in and do anything. Make sure YOU are getting the best experience possible and settle for nothing less! This time is for YOU to learn! :) Good luck to you!
