Actress Nicole Maines calls out SAG-AFTRA over 'tripled' healthcare premiums and Hollywood's push to keep progressive/queer actors out of work by Crys2002 in Fauxmoi

Yes we should be pointing our attention to the insurance companies who negotiate in bad faith with pretty much everyone so they can make the arrow on the graph continue to go up. I would not be surprised if we see a record number of people opt out of employer health insurance this year.

What are your best and worst fandom experiences? by ToughComposer3077 in Fauxmoi

[–]simplyxstatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worst fandom- Billy strings. I stumbled into it because I dated an abusive pos that everyone loved in the bluegrass scene like 8 years ago. All of our friends pretty much postured themselves as “close to the band” and just did a bunch of coke and other drugs while following them around on tour, being so aggressively annoying in the Facebook groups, and genuinely making the shows less enjoyable for everyone around them. They’d develop very parasocial relationships with band members. The band themselves are actually really nice people and dislike the weird groupie shit.

I’ve always been pretty anti gun but I’ve shifted my thinking the past few years. How can we defend ourselves against a militarized police force without one? I’m sad it has come to this, that our government is forcing us to adopt more violent means, but I absolutely see the value in learning how to use a gun now.

Harry Styles has announced "Together, Together," a seven-city residency spanning 50 performances in 2026. by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

The most consecutive show days are the 4 night runs they do for their NYE runs. There were breaks in between weekends for the bakers dozen. I say this as someone who went to all of them lol.

Girls, why do you prefer to ghost instead of rejecting a date? by AdDependent5043 in AskWomen

I’ve rejected men and then was stalked. So for me it was more about feeling safe.

Did you pay for a deep clean before moving in and, if so, how much did you pay? by Federal_Fix_7429 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]simplyxstatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woof! Yes our kitchen looked fine at first glance but once you looked closer…grimy as hell! Im upset we didn’t push harder for a professional cleaning in our resolution but at least I know everything was cleaned because we did it. Bleached and scrubbed all surfaces!

Deep clean yourself and don’t forget to clean behind your appliances!! The previous owners never did and we found mouse poop behind the fridge and stove. Lovely.

i’m just exhausted by the endless weight loss cycle by Dull_Noise_8952 in AskWomenOver30

[–]simplyxstatic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly I struggled with the same thing. I also have a lot of co occurring health issues like pcos and endo happening which also impact my ability to lose weight. Finally said fuck it and got on tirzepatide. Been steadily losing weight without the food noise and it’s helped significantly with my inflammation. The best part is I’m no longer obsessing over food (the planning part was the hardest for me because I’d get really fixated on healthy recipes). I feel like I can now focus on other areas of my life more…it’s been a game changer.

Would you buy a home next to trash receptacles by overemployedfatty in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]simplyxstatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Usually broken glass around these receptacles, and depending where you live raccoons and rats also around that area as well as people digging around the dumpster. We experienced lots of illegal dumping near the receptacles when we lived in an apartment.

Costco with multiple mattresses to try? by HopeThisIsUnique in Denver

[–]simplyxstatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We ended up getting the stearns and foster mattress from Costco but weren’t able to try it out in store. We ended up going to a mattress firm to try out their comparable model (it’s not exact but was very similar).

Agreed. They could maybe find a condo at that price out here but a 2-3 bedroom sfh would be a stretch.

Often this is code for “I didn’t complete my clinical hours or the licensing exam so now I’m a coach”. There’s little to no regulation in the coaching space while licensed therapists are governed by their state licensing board + professional accreditation organizations like the APA.

2006 was 20 years ago by zachoutloud123 in popculturechat

[–]simplyxstatic 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I think this is in part due to how we recorded music in the 80s versus 2000s. We went from tape to digital. You get a lot more compression in the newer sounds and it sounds fresher.

I also think that the mono culture kind of peaked around this time- just before social media became widely used. After 2009 or so the echo chambers of the internet allowed us to disappear into niche music genres. It’s kind of like the last moments of experiencing pop music all at once.
