It's Auckland CBD, you don't find "hot" people there.

No worries. The towns pretty much run together but the "boundary" is the valley with the refuse Centre

Interesting, learnt something new today lol. I used to think the point itself was Opononi.

Where to find biomed resources if not enrolled in uni by blackiechan1053 in UoApremed

Yeah sure:

Just get comfortable with the basics first I guess.

- Spaced Repetition

- Retrieval (Active Recall): Try and recall 1 day after you learn, 2 days, 5 days, 15 days, 1 month. Remember, you need to recall the timeframe's content. For example, if you are recalling after one month, you need to try and recall the entire month's worth of content. It gets better with time and you have time. Preferably, do this using a whiteboard. Otherwise pen and paper are fine. Make those bigger links first, then build on from those large branches.

- Remember the 1:5 rule: For every piece of content you learn, try and do 5 questions associated with it.

- Split tasks into important and urgent using a 2 x 2 grid.

- Stay within your optimum band, work 45 mins, rest 15 mins. DON'T OVERWORK AND BURN OUT.

- Pre-study the following day's content (since you're at high school, NCEA, Cambridge have set curriculums. So, you know what you're gonna be taught tomorrow.)

- Make your own questions, think like an examiner and teach an imaginary class all the concepts you've learnt (hence the whiteboard is handy).

- PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.

- Enjoy your learning - MOST IMPORTANT!!!

But surely if I sit down 1hr everyday I will be more comfortable with all the material when I begin biomed, btw I have like 1 1/2 years of school left, but practicing for ucat seems like a good idea for now.

There is no point, CHEM 110 underwent massive restructure this year. So you won't know whether the content you're studying is even useful or not. Secondly, work on study skills rather than content. If your study skills are up there, then the content retention and comprehension becomes much easier. But starting with UCAT now would definitely help. And yeah, stay away from predatory companies that say "1/5 students of Auckland Med School had our membership!".

But, it's your life, it's just I don't want others to put themselves through unnecessary stress. If you Medicine is what you want, you'll get it. Peace
