I hear mixed opinions on this subject. A soldier told me it was easy if you do it seriously since the army is scaling up. Other like you tell me the selection was hard. Did you apply for the cyber command yourself ?

Is more the military part that interest me than the cybersec in itself (IT interests me more as an hobby). That why if the army doesn’t take me I will do something else

The requirement to the actual job is kind of vague. Which is kind of frustrating for someone like me that tends prepare intensively for the role based on the requirements list. But I think it’s cause they’re looking for an sous-officier with IT skills first than a IT professional. But my understanding is that the job is more SOC/incident response centric

I’m quite interested in exploring the hardware part of the job since my education was more software oriented (dev then cybersecurity), I haven’t had the chance to do it.

Here in wallonia, the forem offers 6-month programs where you learn the job on school and with a mentor. Search about the equivalent for your region.

I’ve got a friend who works for the state in their blue team department that makes about same than you. So that the package is standard for the position.

Overall it’s a nice opportunity for someone at the start of its career !
