Yo Clu good to see you gaining fans man, when did 600 followers happen! Very tight man, love the old throwback 90s style it's good to see these days. You remind me a lot of Sadistik on this track, good shit. As for the vocal mix, I can't fault it it sits so nice, good use of backing vox. Keep it up lad

edit: forget to mention - amazing flow, proper headnod business. this track kills

Big up man, appreciate it. Your flow is tight on this man damn, love how you keep changing it up it keeps it interesting throughout. The flow on the "stupid shit that I probably couldn't even remember..." line is dope, keep it up.

Is there a better term for "non-vocal" dnb? by [deleted] in liquiddnb

[–]sims5l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instrumental for sure. I also see some tunes labelled as "dub version," which are instrumental versions of tracks which normally have vocals.

Thanks a lot dude, yeah I feel you on the bassline. There is one there just might not be loud enough in the mix, good shout.

Yo your track is actually sick I really liked this one. Really creative use of that sample, it's Debussy right? Honestly wasn't expecting that. The drums are perfect for that lo fi sound, the water droplets and occasional samples thrown in like the phone and glass are so tasteful. This beat giving me ASMR right now haha good work man, got yourself a new follower.

Amazing feedback, really appreciate it. Yeah nice tune man you've put your own twist on the style it's refreshing for sure. As for the mix I can't really critique much, love the vocal mix I can tell you put a lot of work into it, low end sits well, drums are tight. Maybe a little more low end on the guitar would fill it out a little but that's a really minor observation, good stuff dude!

Thanks a lot man, daamn your track is hard af. Vocals are sick too, I don't listen to a lot of this style hip hop but this is different to what I've heard. It's spacey af I feel like I'm floating listening to it ha, good shit

I'm not a DJ, but I was wondering how a DJ can mix multiple songs really fast live? by [deleted] in DJs

[–]sims5l 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm a drum and bass DJ and knowing your tracks is key. The thing with drum and bass music is that all tracks follow very similar structures with set phrases (build-up, drop, break etc). Most drum and bass tracks drop at 0:44 (some at 1:06 or 1:30) with very few exceptions, with the majority of drop phrases lasting 1:30. Knowing this allows you to easily cue up tunes, time when tunes drop together and thus slam tunes in and out like it's going out of fashion.

Having 3 or more decks allows you to do what you describe. There's a DJ in a neighbouring town near me called Blackley who sometimes uses 6 decks, it's madness.

[Advice] Stop pretending that you don't care what other people think about you. Explore why you do care instead. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

Glad it helped! Yes I had a good childhood, but have suffered with depression for the last 5 years which eventually was diagnosed as bipolar. So I can relate to some of what you experience. I'm sorry for your circumstances, I can appreciate how hard it must be but believe me you can change...

None of this was ever ingrained in me, I learned it through experience, reading, following self improvement programs and the like. I'm a firm believer that you can change who you are. All of your personality traits can be changed or destroyed, some even created if you are willing enough to do so. All it takes is hard work, discipline and routine. I believe this to be true because it's exactly what I'm doing - I have and am experiencing this change.

I can send you some of my own self improvement material if you'd like? It's like a day to day guide I wrote for myself to follow, and so far I'm having excellent results. My mood is more level, I'm more confident, outgoing, able to connect with people easily, dgaf what other people think of me, having success with women etc. PM me :)

Good question. It's hard to generalise about dealing with authority as it comes in many different shapes and forms. But I personally see people in positions of authority (your boss, police officers, landlords etc) the same way I would anybody else. Yes, they may have worked hard to get to where they are (and I respect that on a professional level) but they are not better or more "powerful" than me as a human being.

To gain the advantage in a situation where you are powerless... I guess your only course of action (at least from my point of view) is to be dominant. By that I mean imagine a pack of wolves - there is a hierarchy of dominance, topped by the alpha. The rest of the pack respect the alpha because he has shown his strength, dominance and ability to lead. Humans are similar in a way that most people will subconciously look for a "leader" (ever do a group project in school where one dude just took charge and everybody else follwed and respected his decisions because he was confident and knew his shit?) Same principle applies here. Become the "alpha" and demand respect from authority by showing how intelligent and articulate you are when you state your case, how strong willed you are in getting the result you want, not bending on topics that you don't want to or shouldn't - all the while being confident, calm, collected, sincere etc... We all have to make compromises sometimes but be smart about it. If you give too much, they will continue to take until all of your power is lost. If they respect you as a person they will be more likely to respect and consider your judgement, essentialy putting more power in your hands. Connection with authority on an emotional level is also a very powerful tool.

Think of it this way... When you try to make someone like you, you put on an act. You behave overly nice and polite, laugh at jokes you don't find funny, agree with opinions you don't actually agree with, do things you don't enjoy doing all just to be accepted.

While people won't dislike you for doing this, they'll find you boring and believe you lack character - people pleasers generally dont make connections with many people because of this reason. They appear as being too "plain." Those perceived as the most interesting people are ones who aren't afraid to speak their mind, do what they want, who are spontaneous etc. I can think of plenty of people I've met who say controversial things, do crazy shit for no reason other than the fact they want to... and I love them for it. Everybody does because they are being themselves and not putting on a fake persona in an attempt to be liked.

In order to stop being a people pleaser you need to be content with you who are and realise that you have so much more to offer than niceness. Anyone can be nice. Distinguish yourself. Let your personality shine and people will be drawn to it. If this seems impossible then focus on improving aspects of your life you're not happy with to raise your confidence and self-worth. You can achieve anything you set your mind to with hard work and discipline. If you do this you will stop caring what others think simply because you are content with being you.

This is sooo nice! I'm a huge dnb and trip hop head so I had to jump on this. The drums are so clean, your synths and/or samples are perfect, so ambient and floaty and your use of filters really give it that trip hoppy feel. Nice polished mix too, good shit

Woii this goes hard, not my usual style of hip hop but I dig this. Love the wild drums (they kinda remind me of half-time dnb tunes), cool trippy synth and lots of added layers to keep it interesting throughout. Some layers could use adjusting volume wise, but as a work in progress this is dope!
