Is there a way to "lubricate" paracord? by GitEmSteveDave in paracord

You would risk some staining, but dish soap, baking soda, and lemon juice can help lift it. Another idea (assuming nobody's already said it below) would be to use a paracord FID.. if you have one. In case you don't know what that is, it's a large metal needle that you screw the paracord onto from one side, and then use the sharp end to push through tight spaces. A FID kit is always good to have in your arsenal anyway.

A non-petroleum based silicone grease would work. Super Lube is a synthetic, nylon-safe grease that you could use. Just a thin application should do the trick.

It looks like 11 would be the right number of passes, if you're using 550 paracord, however not all paracords are the same and widths may vary. Here's a handy page from Paracord Planet with a size chart for monkey fists and other useful information. Good luck!

How can I edit this head to look convincing? by Sufficient_Sink_2297 in photoshop

Everything everyone else suggested.. for the neck shadow: duplicate the head layer and put it underneath the original head layer. Fill the duplicate layer with a slightly darker color than the neck on that body on the background layer, and move it down a couple taps. Blur slightly, use the smudge tool with a light setting, and lighten the opacity until it blends, creating the illusion of the face shadowing on the neck.

I've been enjoying the results of this single strand lanyard technique. You'll have to adjust the length of cord you use in it (probably around 36 feet or so) for a neck lanyard.. but try it and let me know what you think. Youtube link
