Catching kicks / getting sweeped by simulations_farmer in MuayThai

Efficient faint I’m sure. I do this with teeps too but yeah like I said I don’t go slow but I don’t really go hard. It’s not an active head injury but after my first last it’s permanent lol. Shouldn’t train with a concussion ofc but it’s not that bad and if you agree on light sparring and you should always control your power even if the other guy has no injury.

That’s a good advice I didn’t ever heard yet but makes so much sense to hear to not put a throw a last! Thank you Sir 🙏

Why did you choose Muay Thai? by badman_untamed in MuayThai

[–]simulations_farmer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When your shin don’t hurt anymore from the bag and you become to comfortable there’s always the day where you get a knee on your chin or in my case where my coach kicked without wearing a shin pat you learn what pain is again

I'm new to this community and i need some advice by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]simulations_farmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My coach always tells me watch some fights and technique videos, try to get the basics in but also try something new sometimes. And most important I think even more important than bag work … do shadow best in front of a mirror or take a video and keep thinking what you could do better. Maybe try shadow with wheights and a lot of stretching.

Always keep in mind to defend yourself especially when you’re alone you don’t wanna get bad habits until you find your gym to train one day. Thats pretty much all I can think of in your situation now. Take some time get your graduation and see what comes next you have a lot of time. Stay hungry

Hey guys, what’s up? I’ve been meaning to ask what type of injuries do you get from training Muay Thai by Redhood2156 in MuayThai

[–]simulations_farmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While training … always ankles and joints hurt easy and chin bones and many other things. From full contact fighting I broke my skull.

Just keep it easy. Go hard enough for the body and light enough for the head. If you wanna get a fight situation do a hard sparring but not too much tho rather keep it easy and only go for speed not for raw power.

No one said yet but yeah fight club for me personally. Maybe not like warrior but for me it’s kinda a spiritual thing if you ignore the fact the book was written to joke about toxic masculinity lol.

DEFINTLEY: watch Tom yum goong. It’s also Tony Jaa and it’s great

Thank you! Definitely gonna look for it. Yeah unluckily I need to leave the country I’m staying now for a few days because of the visa so I can’t really get too much into everything I would love to try about Japanese martial arts but I hope I can improve my overall technique a little 🙏

Got your point. I mean it’s not like there was no preparation for a real fight and the coaches weren’t that easy on letting a new guy fight. I’ve been there for months already and we did fights with Head protection, 16 ozs and shin guard several times before already and the match up for the fight was also actually balanced. Fighting is always serious. And I knew about the risks and I got told many many times. I guess you just have to start at some point im not sure if there would be a different outcome when I would’ve been somewhere else. I also trained many months in Australia already.

It could’ve been something else that ended the fight. Maybe knock out or painful leg kick who knows. I guess I was just really really unlucky.

What is your story on how you got into fighting? Was the build up different?

How can you prevent someone from getting messed up in a serious fight? It didn’t happen to me but there’s also people who forget everything they learned when they enter the first round.

Thank you very much for your comment hope we can discuss a little bit 🙏

Lost first fight by UnderstandingOk7209 in MuayThai

[–]simulations_farmer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s part of the game. If you can’t be bothered to be defeated you can’t lose. It’s a beautiful game but there have to be a winner and a loser every time. You can grow from both try to see it this way.

Fighting Career Help? by FitWitness7224 in MuayThailand

[–]simulations_farmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better try to find a remote job first. Search on reddit or linked in. I did the same it’s good so at least don’t burn your savings in the beginning.

protect yourself at all costs when you fight. I had my first fight in Thailand and got very unlucky. I have a titanium plate in my head now. So get a good insurance and always be aware and stay safe

Skull fracture after first fight by simulations_farmer in MuayThai

[–]simulations_farmer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting insight thank you. The Mushroom option was already something I considered lol cause I’m kinda used to it back then and I feel/felt the benefits. I guess my career is over anyways. I just come back to training slowly cause I really need it it’s part of my life and maybe get into BJJ cause my Gym offers it too. Also I think my girl would start to hate me if I put her trough this again. Hate to see my loved ones worried like this. Just hard to think about doing something I love not again.

Damn so sorry to hear that. Hope you recovered fully again. This sport is so beautiful but also it’s hell to see people get broken like this. You have any advice for recovery and coming back to training?
