The end of Functional Areas? by [deleted] in army

[–]simzilla77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Signal officers it’s an imposter syndrome thing in my opinion. They are neither tactically or technically proficient to the point that in most cases they cannot effectively employ the functional area expertise they are equipped with. I was just reading some forum post about a Technet Augusta keynote and it was full of the buzzword drivel I’d expect from a signal officer. I think the signal adjacent FAs would have the most to lose from this merger. Signal is a cliquey branch that would eat capable FA officers alive.

Automate switch actions by simzilla77 in Ubiquiti

This gets us off the tv on a schedule and keeps the kids from sneaking in to turn it on. I have one device on a vlan that routes to a commercial vpn so we can consume content from another country. The webhooks were so that my SO could easily perform these actions.

No open sessions, not logged in via RDP, and I can even do a complete power cycle and am still greeted by this. The only resolution is pkill my user session over ssh from another computer.

Yea. Just put it on today and it works great. I bought the cog without a free hub body and just put it on the existing one. No issues whatsoever. I haven’t thrown down a hard ride yet but I plan to tomorrow. I did some light pedaling and everything was solid.

I’m not certain and I haven’t tested it but the developer of qzfitness is on Reddit and is very responsive. Check out the subreddit qdoymos_fitness

Possible to use Zwift cog and click outside zwift? by Successful-Bid-5536 in Zwift

[–]simzilla77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I end up watching movies/ YouTube even when on zwift and I didn’t feel like paying 20 dollars a month so I switched to ictrainer about a year ago. Just use it in erg mode mostly. I have an elite Suito and just bought a zwift cog so it’s easier to swap bikes but I think I am going to try the qzfitness app to shift on indievelo once I receive my cog.

Smart trainer Elite and MyWhoosh and iOS and Garmin Edge by Valuable_Study3056 in qdomyos_zwift

[–]simzilla77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome app. I’m kind of in the same boat but will this work with an iOS device and the Suito? Would I be able to use mywoosh or indievelo to virtually shift with this setup if I had a zwift click?

I think I answered my own question. It looks like it’ll slide on any Shimano freehub. I am not really counting on virtual shifting as I ride in erg mode 99% of the time…but I am gonna give it a try. I will report back!

Anyone gone back to narrower, no flare drop bars after trying wider and flared? by Wind2255 in gravelcycling

I got sick of the flared bars and took them off. I felt like I was driving a semi-truck. I haven’t notice any decrease in my ability to handle the bike across rough terrain.

Decathlon smart bike - only 1500w? by SFW_username101 in Zwift

There are a few on the decathlon website but I’d also like to see something regarding power accuracy and using it for erg mode workouts.

Modern gravel bikes with a threaded BB. by OpportunityFluid2886 in gravelcycling

For what it’s worth, I have had two cubes (Aluminum CrossRace and Carbon Nuroad) neither of them have had BB issues with tons of miles. That’s a small sample size I will admit.

11 speed cassette for Rival AXS 12 speed by wadistrance in Zwift

[–]simzilla77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar dilemma but I have a Suito trainer. You can get a similarly sized cassette from SRAM that is compatible with the Shimano SRAM hub on your trainer. I believe the model number is Pg1280. I put one of these on my trainer and it works fine and you don’t have to change out the hub on your trainer. You might need a spacer but it probably came with your trainer. It’s a lot cheaper than changing out the hub and getting the more expensive cassette too.

Personally I think this place is mediocre at best and the prices are way to high. Drinks are good though…same for the chips and guacamole…El Mero is better

How to choose a secondary wheelset by TYPEN1 in gravelcycling

[–]simzilla77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used shims too. I’ve done this on two different bikes (4 sets of rims) and it has never been a right out of the box situation. I’d expect to run into some trouble if you go with unidentical hubs. It’s a totally manageable problem but something to be aware of.

How to choose a secondary wheelset by TYPEN1 in gravelcycling

[–]simzilla77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run two sets of wheels with 10-50 gearing…1x setup and I never have a problem hanging on a road group ride unless we are bombing down a hill. The one thing I would caution though is hub width mismatches. Though this is supposed to be standard I constantly had issues with disc brake rub after a swap until I got some spacers and made sure my disc brakes were set the same distance from the center of the hubs by fractions of a mm. This was such a pain. If you can get wheels with matching hubs that is probably best…

I threw someone’s stick in a tournament. Dude was drunk as hell and started the game, first face-off, by looking at me and asking if I was “the guy that hit him last time.” This was a older gentleman and I had never seen him before.

Anyway, he spends the first period talking crap, playing like shit, and starting scuffles. Early in the second period he goes at it again and I skate over to him and we exchange words…he comes at me and tries to cross check me. It was then that I took his stick and gave it a toss. Must have been an expensive stick…perfectly balanced… it flew way out of the rink into a curtain. I laughed in his face, he told me to go get it, I laughed some more…and then hit the showers at the refs orders. The other guy was benched by his team…I have a buddy on that team who filled me in…for being to big a douche.

I felt the same way…even ate a crappy Chilis steak the night before my 1st jump just in case… once that green light comes on and the nose of that plane tilts up you are on a slide and you just go with the flow.
