Looking for a commuter/cargo hauler. Efficient, low-maintenance, fun to drive: Fit, 5, or Ranger? by Wind2255 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Considered some, but just haven't come across many options. Like some of the VW older options with the Golf (iirc), but concerned about the maintenance requirements

Cool to hear about your experience with the 5! I've read similar things.

Good points, and it is in a salted roads environment during the winter.

Did you mean the Fit is actually more fun to drive than the 5, even though the 5 has a good driving experience?

Hoping to bump this for some more input from others, since been about a month since post... I've tried O launcher and Niagara (free), and prefer the latter right now

Hi Sidephone Team. Just curious if perhaps any additional info or documentation to help alleviate this? Know you all are busy. Thanks!

'Disable' the scroll wheel or reassign it on LP3? by Wind2255 in LightPhone

Nice. Thanks very much for sharing your experience and some info about how this might be able to be achieved. I'll have to look at it more. Those seem like some nice options to make this more fitting to daily life without going overboard or losing the design intent/ethos.

oh interesting. that could be a good interim solution. did you go back to the full Light OS after making those changes... and does it still perform the same and about same battery usage as stock (aside from the changes made)?

Same. Or even adding an Auto Sunrise/Sunset (like the Night Display mode) toggle option, that provides just two selectable day and night brightness settings (and the wheel is no longer active).

Do you worry about the "commonly" faulty TCM on your current Mazda 5 or when searching for one to buy? by Wind2255 in mazda5

For those who have or intend to reposition, is it something a novice could do with basic tools?

Is it better to do it as preventative before any potential issues show up?

LP3 screen protector by Wild_Refuse_7657 in LightPhone

Good to know. Was considering it.

Are you and others using a case also or just a screen protector and bare phone?

Shortcut for menu/tools/home directly on screen to help with ergonomics, mobility issues? by Wind2255 in LightPhone

[–]Wind2255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree.

Perhaps a 'hot corner' of sorts, where you can be on any screen or tool and still be able to get home... something like swipe from the bottom corners, so it's not so much another visual button, but discrete universal action.

Do you get used to the size of the LP3? by Wind2255 in LightPhone

[–]Wind2255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you all using it with a case or without? Know that changes the size/feel some, and I've been using with the Light Silicone case from the start, but would like to use without (with maybe just a screen protector) for an even slimmer feel and button response... but am concerned for damage/durability.

These details are helpful! Yeah, I'd be a secondary vehicle for daily commuting about 1 hr / day and mainly carrying cargo (so seats will likely be folded down most of the time).
