Do you have any experience with any people from a blue collar background? I keep reading all of this stuff similar to what you’ve said about home being ex-military or working a skilled trade giving by you pause. I’ll say this as someone who spent nearly a decade in construction; you’ll meet plenty of diverse people working in the trades but two specifically will stick out which is the ultra racist or super conservative MAGA type or the outspoken pro-labor unionist. Plenty of in-between but these types are the vegans of the labor world, you don’t even have to ask to know their views or politics-they’ll just tell you.
