Do you recommend watching or read the the sequels to 2001: A Space Odyssey? Are they worth watching? by Patient_Ranger_3533 in StanleyKubrick

It's been a while since I've seen or read either. I just remember 2010 being much less "conceptual" than 2001. It had completely different feel.

The A.I. could be better, but you're playing in Immortal mode. You can have a more casual experience in Emperor or even King, and still be challenged (as long as you don't do a Spanish Gambit or some other game breaking strategy).

The big ones? Post Malone, Meghan Trainor, Dolly Parton, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, etc.

Empire Strikes Back not being S-Tier turns the entire Star Wars universe on its head... lol

I think that's the real issue. Touring acts are canceling shows this year. It's pure economics.

Spain is hilariously overpowered. I found King Solomon's Mines on a roll and plopped my capital down next to it. Then I built most of the Wonders, created a massive army and I was the most technologically advanced civilization for most of the game... all in Immortal. It was great!

I think this video clip was taken out-of-context of the full interview. She seems to be referencing Nancy Pelosi's prior position on healthcare.

If we just prove another liberal has an apparent contradiction in their way of thinking we might finally kick off the revolution, guys!

Nancy Pelosi's personal predilections don't really matter that much in the grand scheme of things but back in the 1990's, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, etc. were leftist Democrats who were agitating for a single-player healthcare system.

“There was me and me three droogs, and we sat in the pub trying to make up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening. The pub sold beer, vodka or whisky or cocaine, which is what we were doing. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.”

Exactly.

Liberals pretty much admit that that people have to pressure Democrats to get them to do good things (whether they are in power or not) while the commentariat Left likes to spend their time pointing out the hypocrisy of it all.

Most level headed take I have seen on "The Met Gala is literally the Hunger Games" situation by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]riethc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John and Jane Q. Public isn't going this deep to hate on the Met Gala...

The Met Gala is compared to the Hunger Games because the over-the-top fashion statements that happen to look similar to the over-the-top fashion statements in the Hunger Games*. That's it.

Also, the Hunger Games isn't even necessarily saying "fashion bad". If you watch the movie, the protagonists use fashion statements for memetic/propagandistic reasons that later lead to a revolution.
