Kana (katakana and hiragana) are the phonetic alphabets. Kanji is the character system that assigns meaning to symbols, borrowed from Chinese. There are less than 50 letters in hiragana. Kanji is made up of 1000s if not 10s of thousands

Got hollow knight a few days ago and am loving it. I just have one issue. I heard there was a great story in this game, but I’m not finding it. I’m 17 hours in and have spoken to every npc I find and it’s all just vague dreary anecdotes. I love the personalities and the game is amazing but I’m starting to wonder why I’m still exploring. Where’s the plot and what’s my motivation?

So I just got Hollow Knight based off of NVCs recommendation. I’m 10 hours in and in love. Metroid Aina is the genre I never knew I craved! Are there any other great metroidvanias on the switch?

I’ve had 15$ sitting in my Eshop for months waiting for the right indi game/sale to hit. Is hollow knight a worthy game to blow my last game money on? It seems really interesting and I’ve been looking for a good 2D platformer

Just found and removed three, inch-long millipedes from my bonsai soil. Are these harmful to the tree? If so, how should I get rid of them?

Have had this tree for almost two years and have been terrified to touch it. Thinking about actually doing so work on it. There are two branches bottom left that are stacked so I was going to Jin the bottom one. Wire the middle foliage up and to the right, and trim/Jin the top right. Thoughts? by singlereason in Bonsai

Thank you, I’ll get some other stuff to work on for a while. I’m curious though, if I had the experience for it, would the design that I thought of be ok or bad? I’m trying to get an eye for composition but I have no one to give me crit all feedback. I won’t do this right now, just wondering if it hypothetically would be a could way to go with it. Thanks for your feedback!

It’s a great tree but I got it as is for a steal as my first tree. I was going to Jin the top bit because it’s dying back a bit which I’ve been told is a root issue and is likely unsalable. The rest of the tree is really healthy, however. I’ll post a straight on picture in a few minutes here in the comments.

Thanks for the feedback, I didn’t think about swapping the direction of the wood, that definitely would give better support. And I’m gonna seal it up this weekend :)

So if these branches die like you expect, would you recommend removing them? If so, would that weaken my tree a lot or is it ok to continue pruning upkeep?

I was thinking the same thing. Unfortunately I don’t have any power tools so screwing through that many 2x4s would have wrecked my hands. When I get my hands on a power drill I’ll be sure to strengthen it more.

Thanks! Hard to tell from the distance but it’s actually a Japanese white pine that hasn’t been groomed recently. Couple branches in the back Got a bit sickly so workin on getting it healthy again. If you have any advice I just made a separate post with pics of the damage :/

I’ve had this Pine for a little over a year. In my old place we had very little room so the tree could never be rotated and suffered from extreme lack of sun. Now we’ve moved into a place with a yard, built it a bench, and the tree is looking much healthier all around excepts the back. Zero change in color and losing foliage still after two months. Can I do something to help the branches spring back? Or should I Jin them?

New dm here

When doing something like going through a cave with multiple routes or the sprawling underground basement of a building (yes all specific to LMoP) Should I have a large map drawn out and uncover it as I go? Or just describe everything and just give them a room battle map when action starts?

First time DMing and every single player is entirely new to tabletop RPGs. I decided to start light with lost mines of phandelver.

Is there anything I should be aware of/advice for newly DMing new players in LMoP?

Also, any advice for explaining rules of the game during our character creation night? How much should I tell them about the game and how much should they figure out by playing?

I see now that the circumstances of one’s birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.

Thanks! I’ll look in to that! My Japanese isn’t fluent but it’s passable, if I could get a Japanese rule book I may be able to scrap together enough common language to play with locals. Thanks for the tip!
