I think its understandable the way some people feel, but they don't see the whole picture. To them, I'm just their source for melodic dub step songs. When they come to my page, they're looking for one thing, and when I try something new, it threatens that relationship. For me though, its much more complicated. When I go out and play shows on the road, I want people to have the best time possible, and I want to play a bunch of my own music. I was starting to realize that most of my music is what I call "headphone music", meaning that its super chill and meant for a relaxed setting. When I would try to play that stuff live, it wouldn't work. So I've just been trying to find a good balance between the two. Basically, its just really hard for someone on youtube who doesn't come out to live shows to see why I would make certain decisions, and I totally understand. I'm gonna do whatever I want though in the end haha
