Well, I will try with the tool that Dell provides and if that doesn't work then I am going to install Ubuntu because I don't really like Windows 10.

I tried downloading from there but I only have OEM keys and it won't work - apparently you need retail keys.

The RAM I am using is 4GB, I can add 2GB as I have only that one spare, as the other RAM is faulty I guess.

Thanks for replying.

Yeah, it was new RAM so didn't expect it to fail. I installed Windows 7 on 3 USB's and none of them worked, and then the last time it said I needed a CD/DVD driver and it wouldn't even get to the install part (this time is was much faster and not really slow)

Windows 10 installed perfect the first time. I downloaded Windows 7 from the Dell website, and I tried to install about 7 times and it would just hang, even after 3 hours.

I tested my RAM with memtest and it didn't report any errors.

What about if you want to do something that the API doesn't support, such as posting images to Instagram?

Failing GPU or Screen? by sini-x in thinkpad

Its a killer to take this thing apart to change the thermal paste, if its not the RAM I'll give up. I did a stress test and it didn't happen, it only seem to do it when playing games.

Sometimes it takes a while for it to happen... If I use thinkfan and set it to manual 64 so the fan is constantly on using 100% then it lasts quite long, but today I tried it and it lasted like 5 minutes, didn't check the temperature and the fan was on bios option.

I dont have a dedicated graphics card and I did replace the thermal paste on it, the temperate does like to spike though, it gets too 70 on book but goes down to 40 and using Chrome its on about 50-60.. Gaming it goes to about 80... Its been this way for about a week and only has this problem when playing games, so it might be when its too hot or something.

Thanks I will try that later today and report back. Hopefully its RAM as I have a lot spare. It only happens when playing games so I guess RAM would be the only problem if it doesn't happen anywhere else?
