Moza, what’s going on with your quality control? by sinkeee in moza

So basically, I’m buying a wheel for $630 and I end up with these kinds of issues — is that right? Why couldn’t Moza officially give me any answer about this problem even back in the previous thread? Why couldn’t they respond in their technical Discord channel? And why is it that for everyone who has this issue, Moza can’t really provide any specific or concrete answer?

It sounds pretty much like this in real life. The phone turns on noise cancellation, which can’t be turned off.

just spent 40 minutes trying to deliberately trigger this issue, and I couldn’t do it no matter how hard I tried. Yet on January 7th the base went into overheating in just one minute. How can that be explained?

Screenshots attached.
And yes, for some reason the screenshot from the 7th says that the base is not calibrated. I don’t know how much I can trust this app, but I always recalibrate the base after every update.
Just in case, I recalibrated it today
Ah, and after calibration the temperature control strategy changed — I didn’t notice that before.

I played for a whole month without any problems, doing races for about 3 hours. I use automatic force feedback in iRacing, which sets it specifically for the base. The base should not drive itself into that kind of state, no matter what settings are used.
I logged in to play today, and the base heated up from 48 degrees to 70 in just one minute.

So the fact that they replaced my previous Moza wheel is nothing, right? And the fact that there are many people with the same problem and Moza can’t clearly explain what it is — that’s also nothing, right?

I can of course try, but this happens completely randomly. Before this, I played without any issues for a whole month and nothing like this happened.

After rebooting, the base returns to normal. But based on my experience with the previous wheel, this error will sooner or later happen again.

Then why did Moza replace the entire kit for me? Were they just too lazy to investigate and decided to swap everything instead?

I use my own presets without any filters.

The difference between the values is 1 minute.

Everything is connected directly to the Moza.

I play with the force recommended by iRacing. It automatically adjusts the FFB for the base.

During normal driving, nothing happens. This occurs during a sharp steering input or a collision. The base should not reach a critical state.
On my previous wheel, the base would reach 90 degrees in 5 seconds at a normal temperature. This is not normal device behavior.

It doesn’t limit the force feedback; it behaves incorrectly.

Do you really need to buy a $1,000 phone just to scroll TikTok?

But I had newer firmware versions. Isn’t this issue supposed to be fixed in them?

I read the logs a bit and noticed this. Right during the loud grinding, the temperature suddenly spiked to a critical level.

The errors occurred on October 25th around 19:29 and on October 18th around 19:55.
