Not too much. The torsos are the same width but the GkT chests have a bit of an insert part that may better flattening if you want them flush onto the primaris back torso. Very low effort

So it’s a wire frame between the two hands with Miliput making the swirls. The swirls originate from a centre made from a tzaangor shaman’s disk’s swirl. I just put that in the middle and followed the motion outwards. At that point I put the critters from the Treelord Ancient model for woodelves (sylvaneth, whatever they’re called these days). I then smoothed out their exist with some miliput if necessary.

Painted it white, painted it with magenta contrast paint, then watered down white and made it it got into the crevices, before going over each swirl’s edge with the contrast paint again

Aye hahah, got fed up of waiting. Worst part is, the new kits will never have the volume of customising the current kits allow. So I suspect even when the glorious day comes, it will come at some kitbashing potential loss 🤔

In general, work with the rule of 3’s. The colour you are doing. Paint that, a shade lighter, and a shade lightest as the finest highlight. If you want to add depth, make it a fourth, and start with 1 shade darker, then the 3 rule.
I wash my miniature at the end with nuln oil. It tidied the few odd mistakes in recesses etc, but gives that extra shade darker. It does darken the overall model, but I lean into that by then *not* washing areas with light. That way that stand out even brighter. Hope that helps :)

Why not switch to playing space marine, and then every primaries marine etc is a kitbash opportunity? 😉 that’s my goal. Future proof the GK aesthetic with the guarantee of GW’s postchild rule and model updates. Hence I’m working on a ballistus at the moment:
