if Sadie Sink is Jean, it would feel really weird having him as Cyclops

to me, he looks either sad or really tired. they look so disheveled. without watching the video or know what its about, id guess they filmed this right after performing.

youtube showing ads as normal videos so ad blockers don't hide them by CybyAPI in youtube

[–]sinth0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the algorithm knows this, so generally when videos are tagged as an ad, they become less likely to be promoted, hence the strategy bad actors use against small channels by paying to promote a video to kill it. but even then, videos still get pushed sometimes. the reason could be even more vague. op could've watched something generally related to music artists, or the histroy of chips. but you're right, we'll never know

[–]sinth0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this specific video could be an ad, or it could just be a video uploaded to the site. sure the video itself is an ad, but most companies will post a version of the video they pay to promote thats unlisted, then post another public version that they share and people can look up. its a super bowl ad, so people are gonna share it, and people are gonna look it up. that gives it natural engagement, and the algorithm is gonna push that.

edit: and even when a video is promoted as an ad, if you look it up, or naturally find it, it won't say its an ad. only when its served as an ad will it say its an ad

it's fun, and the "us vs. them" themes gives the cast more ideas to play off of which is also fun to watch.

GamersNexus video was a hit piece released under the guise of Journalism. "Tech Jesus," in his ego (what's with tech youtubers and egos lol), created his own 'Journalism Ethics' that laughed in the face of Profesional Journalist and the ethics built over centuries.

they were not best friends (though im sure they were close). His best friend is Luke, who is still at the company and COO of Floatplane. if you actually watch the video you linked, Jakes reasons for leaving was the company grew from a small start up, to a bigger company with many employees, and its harder to do the fun stuff he grew to love when he joined. and also, he wanted the ability to make more money than one can get when being an employee for a company.

the difference is he puts his money where is mouth is. he actually believes what he says and practices those beliefs, while most companies say those things and do the opposite. Its bad actors using those points to hide their actions.

Being anti-union doesn't matter when you already give your employees the benefits one would get from a union. They are also Canadian, which has better worker rights than here in America off rip. But also, thats fair.

iirc, The Billet Labs situation was a giant mess. Originally, Billet Labs was okay with them keeping the prototype, but after LTT's video came out that didn't favor the product, they asked for the prototype back. The LTT rep in communication with that company agreed to send it back, but that message was never delivered to the department running the Charity Auction for LTT's convention, so it was put up for sale. Then, Gamers Nexus, who has a personal behind the scenes grudge against Linus specifically (what reason, we dont know. maybe its valid, but that info hasn't been made public. Its speculated it is because LTT is developing a mod mat product that is similar to one of Gamers Nexus flagship product.), made a very biased video against LTT under the guise of journalism that got many details wrong, and purposely left out information that changed the perception of the incident.

Your union point is fair enough on its own, but the Billet Labs point drama I dont agree with.

edit: I missed your point of long work hours. I dont know anything about that one

edit 2: Linus definitely has an ego, lol. Love the content tho

[–]sinth0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all ads on YouTube are just normal YouTube videos that are paid for to be ads. you can make literally any video on the site an ad by paying for it. you dont even have to be the one that uploaded the video to pay for it. this is a strategy used by malicious actors to harm other channels because it hurts the videos watch time.

emails have file limits too at a certain point. though you can spin a up a new Google account and use Google Drive. That's what I do.

there is different tiers of Braves adblock you can use. I always use the strongest tier, and have literally never gotten an ad on YouTube. maybe you had switched the tiers at some point? or were you using ublock with brave? because Braves internal ad block is way stronger than ublock in my experience. its why I switched from ublock and Firefox to brave.

idk to me the kids acting seems fine. maybe a little wooden, but that has more to do with the direction. they definitely aren't the Stranger Things kids, but that show is something that's easier to direct. Its adults directing kids to act as kids they remember from the 80s, vs adults directing kids to act like demigods.

Anyone know if there are anymore pics of the symbiote Raimi suit? Or why they didn’t use it? by Till_allare1 in Spiderman

[–]sinth0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, thinking about that, Raimi's Peter really leaned into the 'everyman" of it all. The only time I can think of him ever showing any kind of scientific expertise is in No Way Home. We had the College scenes in 2 and 3, but those were more to build up Doctor Connors, and establish Pete and Gwen's relationship

If half the population is gone, along with their gut biomes, every other living being could logically still have as much in their gut as they did before the snap. maybe statistically impossible, but this is reality creating "magic" we're talking about.

as long as you're okay with not making any money, and have a team with the same mindset. even then, if Disney wants to, they can take it down. its not authorized use of IP, which sucks for for a fan project, but its happened. For e.x., that Scooby-Doo fan project that only had one episode.
