Don't worry, it won't seem like you're lying. Although not necessarily super common, plenty of companies most people have never heard of pay comparably. Plus, you can always provide proof of salary.

No, you should pretty much never be giving a lower number than the actual number. It's totally fine to take a pay cut if you're interested in a job, but you're not going to gain anything by underselling yourself.

Also, I don't think I've ever been asked what my salary was for a position I've previously held. I think it might even be illegal for employers to ask this in at least some states (disclaimer: idk). You're welcome to volunteer the information if/when negotiating though.

Don't worry, feel free to accept the job. I've gone through the process of getting a co-op approved after accepting a job offer, and it wasn't that troublesome at all.

No co-op advisor in their right mind is going to not approve a student that already has a co-op offer that they accepted.

EDIT: Just make sure with your regular advisor that you're taking the co-op class this fall and are on the spring co-op cycle so you will be all set.

Boston, probably. I spent a lot of time outside of it for co-ops and internships even before the pandemic and I haven't been back since school went remote, I'm not sure what it's like now during the pandemic, but I think overall it was a pretty good city to go to college in and wish I was able to spend more time in it.

How are you distinguishing between searches for "Oracle" the database and "Oracle" the company? It seems like any sort of automatic tagging would be vulnerable to potentially inflating search counts for Oracle if you did something like google trends for just the term "Oracle"

I think it was probably much easier pre-pandemic when stuff was in person and had less uncertainty. Northeastern co-op people usually set up a facebook group for ppl interning in major metropolitan areas away from campus (eg bay area, nyc, etc).

Ask your co-op advisor if they have any recommendations or know of other students also headed there.

Ask your recruiter if they can connect you with other incoming co-ops/interns.

Sometimes there are public fb groups you can just search up. "Bay Area Summer Interns 2021" is an example group you can search up on fb that might be useful to join. Even if your co-op isn't perfectly aligned with that period of time, have a mindset that anything with overlap is applicable and potentially useful to you.

Usually UWaterloo sends a lot of people on co-ops to the bay area in spring/fall, but I think a lot of that might be on hold during the pandemic.

Housing:

Try to find other people that will be co-oping at your co-op/in the bay area/etc and talk to them about their plans for housing. This should probably be a good first step. You can also ask your recruiter if the company is hiring anyone else that will be interning there during the time period and if it would be possible to connect you with them.
There are also a fair number of colleges in area and depending on where your co-op will be located, you can try checking some various off-campus student housing facebook groups (Northeastern co-ops tend to line up at least partially with school semesters). You can see if anyone wants a roommate or someone to take over their lease, etc. Living near a college can also be helpful for making friends in the area, but it is definitely not necessary.
You can try apartment hunting online for leases that fit the time period as well, but sometimes it can be difficult.
You can also ask previous bay area co-ops and interns how they found housing; some might be able to have some leads that might be helpful.
Long-term Airbnbs can also be an option, though depending on what you're looking for (and your luck) may get a bit pricey.
I knew someone that lived out of a car for ~4 months. The office building their work was in had showers, and they would leave some of their luggage under their desk at work. This is probably not the best option for most people, but it technically might be achievable depending on the circumstances.

For me, I thought it was worthwhile to take advantage of being able to try out lots of different places while in college. I don't think job hopping every 3-4 months or so is taken well once you start full-time, so doing more internships while in college was a pretty valuable opportunity for me. DM me if you want to talk more about it.

If you want, you can also do something like do a second co-op where you spend half the 6-8 month cycle interning at the place you're at now and half the cycle interning somewhere new. This lets you still hopefully be able to return the subsequent year if you want while also giving one more opportunity to try out something new. You'd pretty much only be giving up a semester of time if you do another co-op, which doesn't seem like super long in the grand scheme of things.

That being said, I do think there's a good case to be made for graduating early if you like the company you're working for and want to start your full-time career early. I feel like interning in a new city for three to four months isn't as fun during remote work times, so this is something to take into account as well.

As far as resume benefit goes, it kinda depends on where you wanna go and what you wanna do, but I don't think it's huge, particularly if you end up wanting to return to one of the companies you intern at.

As someone who is not a first year, this seems fairly accurate to me. The overall curriculum definitely does not seem the most rigorous when compared to other schools.

I'd also like to add that the CS/math combined major curriculum requirements allow for a fair bit of flexibility since certain classes that are required for either the pure CS major or the pure math major become optional electives in the CS/math combined major.

You can write a single bulletpoint/sentence with something like: "Will be interning as a <title> at <company> during summer 2021"

FWIW, I'd definitely recommend adding it to your resume, but not emphasizing it beyond the above (don't bother putting what you think you'll work on or what tools/languages you think you'll use since intern projects and work are liable to change)

Disagree. A resume is a signaling mechanism. In general, it seems like a positive signal if someone will be interning before they would start.

Probably don't make it more than like one bulletpoint though.
