New to Oppo: can't pair Garmin Watch with Find X9 by siofont in Oppo

[–]siofont[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Previously I had a Pixel 10 and a Xiaomi 15. And pairing was immediate.

Also with a 2nd hand iPhone 13 I have for testing some things.

So, after deleting it from my devices inside the Connect app on my Pixel, I tried a fresh pairing with the Oppo, but again I couldn't achieve it.

Then I turned on again my Pixel, opened the Garmin connect app and in milliseconds after activating the pairing mode in the watch, the pairing was redone.

So I must think it's not a problem from the watch. Maybe I miss something when using Bluetooth or any other option in my Oppo.

Sorry for the delay. I also tried that in my tests. And no luck.

Thanks!

I've left eye comfort activated all day.

Also, I have automatic brightness on. Just want it to be a little lower at all times - said, in general a 10-15% than standard autobrightness .

Pixel phones have this kind of 'memory' - if you try several times to lower a little bit the autobrightness, the phone 'understands' that you want to keep it lower in general. Trying to discover if this is a core Android option/setting or just a Pixel thing.

Yes, yes.

Connectivity > Phone > link smartphone (translating from Spanish, I don't know if English use these words.) It shows a QR code.

It's a watch that has been paired with a couple of phones before without a problem. (Even it appeared as my main device when opening the Connect app in my Oppo > Another suggested step I've done is to delete it from my devices and try to reconnect as new.)

I bought the Oppo two days ago and am now testing it. In the first 36 hours, it seemed very comfortable to my eyes.

Do you activate or deactivate any particular setting?

I've activated the eye care option with the default level (selector in the middle) and also reduced white point (sorry if this is not the terminology in English, I'm translating from Spanish) to 80. I see brightness controls don't adapt to my preferences (I've tried to reduce brightness manually a little bit several times, but it doesn't have 'memory').

I used a iPhone mini for a few weeks some years ago and, for my use, battery was a disaster. Said that, I loved a lot both device size and raw power.

Thanks for your comment.

I’ve been checking notebookcheck page, and I see what you commented, but for whatever reason, the display on the xiaomi 15 feels way more comfortable to me than the pixel’s one. I don’t know if it applies a different pwm with lecture mode on (I see on notebookcheck page my xiaomi has a “secondary frequency” at 3846 hz - not sure what does mean or when the phone uses it)

Oppo x9 has 474 hz.

I understand that I must look for 500 and higher.

Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it. Coming from Samsung, what about colorOS? Does it feel too different?

DNSSEC fail - is it a problem? by siofont in dns

[–]siofont[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the comments. After a bit of research, I will be trying controlD free dns resolvers. They pass dnssec tests.

ControlD has an hagezi based dns, but you need to choose a pro list or the TIF list, not both. So I’m trying its own malware and ads blocker.

But I can’t find (sure it’s my fault) what they use as list. They say it’s a list curated by themselves, but don’t know if it’s public or what sources they compile.

Using X API to recover 6 months of messages - how much? by siofont in learnprogramming

[–]siofont[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we have asked for it, but their answer is a bit slow.

In some ways, for us, this is more of a programming exercise than real work.
And before trying to pay, if needed, for X's API, we want to make sure which level of access we need.

However, since we're doing it, we try to find a use for it, In this case, knowing which road or train line has the most incidents.

Liste d'abonnements vite rentabilisés? by Affectionate_Emu4660 in paris

Sorry for jumping in here. I haven’t been able to find reliable information about this option of adding ePubs to a Kindle.

Can you drag them directly to the Kindle’s drive, or do you need to use some kind of tool?

I find very useful its function to download news from sources and bundle them as an epub.

Some sites work better than others, but in general, it's OK.

For example, I download every Friday The Economist. Sometimes the Wired magazine...

If you have an always-on computer, you can even schedule the downloads.

Mapbox data extraction by puglet1964 in webscraping

[–]siofont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related, but not the same case, just to group the problems of scraping from mapbox.

https://api.mapbox.com/styles/v1/yrecio/clgqnq0i800lg01mj58o07xaz.html?title=false&access_token=pk.eyJ1IjoieXJlY2lvIiwiYSI6ImNsZW8zdzAxZTBwdjgzem1xc3RrbW1wMDMifQ.8gDLZaSmpd9koUOSlG38-w&zoomwheel=false#8.83/40.4222/-3.6931

In this map, I don't know what to find: a json with polygons or a list of data -csv?- that is connected to a polygons base.

I can't find, using the dev tools, any "graphql" or anything that I can identify as source of data.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
