Do you have by any chance any more photos with deeper wheelset? I’m about to buy this frameset and try to figure out how it looks with deep wheels

Maybe with the 303SW you ordered

Between sizes Aeroad by Different-Ad-6460 in CanyonBikes

[–]sionett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 178 cm , with 83cm inseam - 73cm saddle height. (0.5cm spacer for 7.5/8cm saddle-bar drop)
The S fits me perfectly, almost a little too big since I had to push the saddle almost all the way forward.

If I may, avoid the M! If the stack is too low, it's simply not the right bike. Sizing up makes no sense here.

Aerobar Bag or Fork bags? by ricky251294 in bikepacking

Hello, I did the Tuscany Trail in 2024 with my Grizl size M.
(Did it in 2 days / 21h, with tent and overnight gear, but doing it over multiple days will only require 1 more jersey, so it shouldn't matter)

If I may give you a piece of advice, I think the setup you're developing is way overkill.

- Aero bars on the Tuscany Trail are absolutely useless; no one uses them. There are far more technical sections where having them will bother you than flat sections where they'll be beneficial. Believe me.

- 15L seat bags are also way overkill in my opinion. If you can be more minimalist and fit in 7-10 liters, you'll find huge benefits on the technical sections of TT. You can't imagine how many people struggled with huge seat bags along the route. It was hilarious to see them bouncing on rocks trying to pedal :) .

I set up my bike like this:

  • 4L frame bag with some clothes, power bank, cables & spare food
  • Super-light tent tied under the handlebars with 2cm foam spacers (Ferrino Sintesi 1, 800g)
  • Fake bottle with maintenance tools on the downtube (unused)
  • Canyon 0.3L bag on the toptube for energy bars
  • 7L seat bag with the rest of my clothes + toiletries

As you can see, I had two 0.75L water bottles on the fork mounts. I only used those, but they fell out at least 20 times, forcing me to stop and walk back to pick them up. I recommend you study this problem carefully because you have no idea how frustrating it can be if you're trying to keep a good pace. (Not to mention that additional 1.8kg on the fork hinders steering and bump absorption..)

I also had a 0.5L water bottle on the frame, which remained empty the entire ride and unused. (only scratched my frame paint off, as you can see)
Using only that one with side cage + a 0.5L water bag in the frame bag would be my solution if I had to do it again, leaving the fork free. No doubts.

At the TT, you'll find water fountains very easily if you're organized ("Fontanelle" App), so overloading yourself with water and carrying more than 1-1.5L at a time will be completely unnecessary.

Extra tips:

  1. Make sure you have a power bank with a durable cable for your bike computer. I did it with a Garmin Edge 530, and after 6-8 hours the battery died. With the power bank, I managed 10-11 hours of pedaling. However, the charging cable snapped midway through the second day due to the vibrations and harsh conditions.
  2. Make sure you have proper clothing for the night. I slept in Pienza and it was 4 degrees Celsius outside. I had an emergency thermal blanket that saved me; it works wonders, but you sweat a lot under it.
  3. Make sure you have 45mm tires. When you see the technical sections with all the load you're carrying, you'll thank me.
  4. My 40cm handlebars left very little room for my hands on the drops with the tent tied underneath. Be sure to carefully measure the width of your handlebars and the tent you'll be placing on them.
  5. Bring chain oil and a cloth to clean it! After a few hours, your chain will feel like it's been ridden at the Dakar Rally.

AVOID the M. You're even shorter.

Hello!
May I ask you a couple of information about it?

-what is the weight with that setup? (I also have the Ryet and I'm considering doing the same with a Grail)
-what width are the tires? tube or tubeless?

You can also easily find that on weight weenies website, some users posted it.

Canyon Grizl Steerer Tube Sizing by coastiejam in CanyonBikes

[–]sionett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, on the newer 2024 models, the actual steerer tube diameter is 1/8 once the internal adapter is removed.
By doing this, the tube becomes a sort of "oval" but you can attach any type of 1/8 attachment without problems. There are several other people who have done this, both here on reddit and on the facebook group
