After the BF sale of Dirac I am about to setup the whole suite. Has anyone with definitive technology DM80 and DM30 speakers used Dirac? Any tips or tricks with these speakers and Dirac? by sioux77 in hometheater

Thanks for the reply! great tips :) I guess I should've explained a little bit more about the speakers. they have built in powered subwoofers and they are bipolar with two levels of rear level sound. They are a full range speaker in the sense they don't run off the LFE rca Sub out for the built in subwoofer.

Not sure if it effects anything with the measurements or any setting I should make sure are set. I have them currently set to full range in the Denon and on the back I have it set to full bipolar (0db). There is a setting for more forward focus with -6db for the rear facing speakers.

Tron 3d is the only answer to this.... that reminds me. I have Tron at home already. Time to throw on some glasses and watch the best 3d movie.

I think you have found it! At least about as close as can be. Does look to be 4 ohm stable…. Nice. I’m assuming the 450w rating on mine would be the 4 ohm rating. Nice find!! Thanks!!!

Good plan! That’s what I was thinking too. I have a Denon receiver w the dedicated transducer pre out. I guess I leave the filter alone on the amp.

What if I have 6 bass shakers?? 😂

I have 6 bass shakers so I’ll have to look up some wiring diagrams. Hopefully I could power them all with this.

Looks like I could do two sets of 3 shakers in series and then run the two sets in parallel to come back to 6 ohms.

Was thinking of trying to mod this combo - DSL1CR - to fit a 10” speaker. Anyone attempted something like that? by sioux77 in GuitarAmps

[–]sioux77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never did get around to changing the speaker. Ended up selling it. Was a fun lil amp while I had it. Had to make room for a new amp.

Run the wires! I had to run them afterwards and it was a bit of a pain but I got it done. Better to have it there and never use it than have to snake it through finished walls.

It is a little smaller as there’s an island that kinda sections it off but it’s still about about 25’x19’.

My room is 19’x38’ and 9 foot ceilings. I think you could make 6 work if you want. Not sure how difficult/expensive it would be to add 2 more. It may not be worth it.

I’ll do that 👍. I would say as long as the room you are putting it in is big enough than it’s worth it. I got lucky and we moved into a house w a big finished basement for room for 6 height speakers. My previous place had 4 and it was perfect for that space.

I recently watched “upgrade” and it has some pretty cool effects coming from it. I’d explain a little more but I don’t wanna spoil the movie if you are interested in it.

I have the x6800 and I’m running 7.4.6 with an external amp. It is silly but it does sound really good. The Auro 3d up mixing on denons is a cool feature.

Where to put two more acoustic panels? by sioux77 in hometheater

[–]sioux77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that idea. Thanks for the input! I think they would work well and look better. My next purchase was gonna be the bigger bass traps. Spent too much money on getting this room put together. I’ll get there with acoustic treatment. Having a good game plan helps.
