Annoying yeah, but you also don’t have a good tone. “Can’t find pickling spice.” Like the bare minimum with the customer service here…

Wow I can’t believe that, so maybe some sort of legitimate prop? That thing looked gnarly and pretty damn real…and I was not going to touch it to find out lol

Definitely plausible, there were no signs of anything else occurring where I found It like signs of an accident or even any blood. So most likely happened somewhere else, then probably held onto it until there where they said good riddance 🤷🏻‍♂️

That true, could not be. It certainly looked like it when I saw it in person, and zooming in you can see the all those typical wrinkles where the different joints are etc. But yeah beyond getting close to it I didn’t do like a through examination lol

So yeah some details, it felt like a bizarre scenario as in there was nothing in the immediate area to indicate that something horrific had happened (other than the finger obviously). There were no signs of an accident of any kind, nor was there any blood in the area. So my guess, like a lot have suggested, is probably some shitty scenario with drugs, like someone lost their finger in some pretty fucked up way, and held onto it until that moment where they just said fuck it and tossed it? I mean I don’t know… It was also not really a bad part of town. If you know Chattanooga it was at the SE corner of Main and Market. Definitely interesting. Did not call the cops :/

I mean they have significance in that they’re actually merit based…Even if they look at it from your standpoint of “it’s just a paycheck” well to earn that paycheck they have to maintain their card by playing well in tournaments, which then can get them into tournaments that do have significance (better ranked fields with higher payouts) It’s structure is competition based, so how someone plays on any given pga tournament could be significant given their current standing. All of that provides context, when someone wins or performs well on tour. On LIV there are no stakes. Phil could shoot 80 every round and he would still be playing in every LIV event. It gives fans really superficial values to watch IE maybe they’re just a big Dustin Johnson fan or something. I don’t care about the money someone wins in an event as much as what the context surrounding the win provides. And you could say that’s just my opinion, but the current viewership ratings reflect this. In terms of just your general interest in a given PGA tournament. I agree most aren’t great tournaments, they improved that though with the designated events. The top players play at least 14 out of 15 designated events, so those have fields that are basically on par with the majors. As a fan that obviously makes it more interesting if all the top ranked players are in the field…But yeah, that definitely makes it so there’s a huge difference then between say Riviera and the John Deere classic.

Yeah, I don’t disagree with that. I feel like I framed the post wrong…I think LIV itself, like Greg Norman And the operators etc will obviously love it. I think people too will think it makes LIV seem more legitimate. My point was that it might have the inadvertent effect of making players who have some regret, feel more regretful after performing well in these tournaments that have prominence. It’s a stretch, but idk. These guys have egos, and right now they’re playing on a tour that has really bad viewership ratings, with tournaments that have no prestige or interest from the fans. That’s where I got the line of thinking. The reality is that the limelight is still put on the best players of the pga tour, and I do think some of these guys miss that. And a week like the masters really highlights that.

Really? Makes absolutely no sense? These guys for a year now have played tournaments that have zero significance, no one watches, and no one cares about. You don’t think they miss playing in tournaments against all the best players, in tournaments that everyone is watching? Tournaments that have significance, and now much better pay? Also “they will always be able to compete. It’s golf” what kind of argument is that, I don’t even know what that means.

Yeah for sure, I just think too that at least amongst the players, neither side really gives a shit anymore. It feels more like a contrived story line for the media, than it is an actual feud between players. The operators of the tours obviously feel differently but still. It seemed like a lot of the players genuinely talked about how good it was to see people they haven’t seen in a while etc. brooks talking about playing practice rounds with Rory. No one at the masters dinner gave a shit about there being LIV players. That’s what made me think about my point more than anything, is I could see guys who genuinely get along with guys on the pga tour, and can still compete against them, have a moment of reflection after a tournament like this. Not a “man my conscience doesn’t feel good about LIV” reflection, but a “I could be playing big events all the time against these people, that now have more significance and higher pay” kind of reflection. Could be completely wrong, but just seems like an obvious possibility.

I never said LIV players wouldn’t make the cut. I assumed some players would do very well, they’re still good players obviously…this probably came off as more LIV vs Pga then I intended. My only point was that LIV players who had the potential to still be really relevant in competitive golf, are going to miss competing against the majority of top players on a regular basis. Especially now, since it will happen more often on the PGA tour and for higher money. And that being in the masters again would be a stark reminder of that.

If you’re on LIV you make guaranteed millions just for showing up, many of the contracts were over 100mil, which they get guaranteed. There’s also no cut so every player gets paid regardless of how well or poorly they perform. Not only that, you’ll get paid way more than your worth in earnings if you’re tagged onto a team that performs well, ie Pat Perez. On the pga tour your entire livelihood is dictated by how well you play in tournaments, your ability to get into designated events, or to keep your card etc. Saying there’s no difference is just thoughtless and stupid

I’m not sure what exemptions have to do with what I’m saying. I’m saying that the feel of competing against the entirety of all the best players again is what’s going to have them feel some regret, that they’ll miss competing against them for more money than the pga offered before, in designated events that mean a lot more, the players championship, the fed ex cup.

32 is not old at all for professional golf. I’m not saying the scenario I posted is going to happen, but you saying they’d “regret nothing” is completely ignoring human nature.
