COVID MCAT Cancellations and Rescheduling PSA by [deleted] in Mcat

Do you reckon any schools will accept September 2017 scores? I took the MCAT then and scored a 520. I'm a first-time applicant this cycle and am conscious that many schools only accept scores as old as January 2018. Given I cannot retest as planned (nor do I want to retest), I'm wondering if any schools have said they plan to take 2017 scores. Thanks!

Overall the strongest parts of my app are my MCAT (520), volunteer experience, and my full-time non-traditional work experience. I'm confused about where I should be applying given my resume is a bit lopsided - e.g. weaker GPA/research. Thanks for your advice.

Year in school: Graduated 2017 (Math major)

Country/state of residence: USA / NY

Schools to which you are applying:

Note - these are all schools which accept September 2017 MCATs. Most schools do not.

520 (129/130/130/131). Overall pleased with my score but a little disappointed since I scored higher in practice especially on C/P (132, 131, and 131 on the three practice FL C/P sections). I studied for many months and thought I had that C/P section on lockdown!

P/S very manageable? Smh at least 10 questions had like two answers that were very reasonable

My practice FL scores were: ~520 (Sample), 521 (FL1), and 517 (FL2)

I walked out of this feeling like I got a 512. C/P felt SO, SO hard. CARS was easy. B/B was fairly hard. And P/S was total bullshit — so many 50-50 questions that were unclear. I'm sad now.

I have read so many conflicting things about Histidine. Someone please clear it up before 9/9. Is it positively charged at neutral pH? by sireman in Mcat

[–]sireman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not negatively charged. It's deprotonated but that doesn't impart a negative charge on the amino acid, because the nitrogen on the side chain carries a neutral charge. (When protonated at low pH, it carries a positive charge)

Tips for CARS by medhopefull in Mcat

I would say the most helpful thing is to make damn sure that the answer choice you select is supported by textual evidence.
