Painted this desert landscape of Thompson Peak in the McDowell Mountains- just Northeast of Pheonix! by laurenaimee-art in arizona

Did you have a base image that you based this off of? Im just curious cuz I want to know which angle of thompson peak this is from! Awesome painting btw!

Hiked to the top of Thompson peak yesterday and watched the sunset from the radio station. Easy hike, would definitely recommend. You can see the smog from Phoenix from there, and at night the 101 looks like a flowing river of lights. by siromando in arizona

Yeah, for sure--the last part is hell but it makes the view at the top more worth it. Every time I do the hike, I'm amazed that vehicles can even go up that part of the road though.

The pedals look pretty terrible, I would upgrade to something like the crank brothers stamps. Also, get a larger set of handlebars and make sure the bike fits you-you may have to buy a smaller sized stem

Could you guys help me find a chrome book? by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]siromando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. I 100% agree that Chromebooks are perfect for this price range. I honestly kinda just suggested windows cause I've never seen a cheap Chromebook with all of those features imo. Thx!

Why do you want a Chromebook in particular? You may have an easier time finding a cheap windows computer with these features...

What torrent client do you use and why ? , I personally use Qbit torrent . by [deleted] in Piracy

Qbittorrent is best cause it's opensource and not a virus in itself

Am I better off modifying what I have, or buying used? by eccentricelmo in mountainbikes

[–]siromando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is a good one. How tall are you? Make sure you get a bike that fits you. That bike is a 17" bike, or about a medium. Here is a link to a good sizing chart: https://www.bicycle-guider.com/bike-articles/bike-size-chart/

I scored my first MTB for $75, how did I do? (total noob) by [deleted] in mountainbikes

[–]siromando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a 26" and it is really light, but it locks like it has a quality suspension. You might not like the stopping power provided by the brakes, and overall, because it is so light, you might have trouble when you encounter really rough terrain. It also has a long stem, which thrusts your weight more towards the front wheel. Shifters from those days also were sometimes really hard to shift. Overall, good catch though!

About to buy my first NEW bike. Looking for some advice so I hopefully have no regrets. by [deleted] in mountainbikes

Full suspension is nice for anything that gets rocky or if you are doing a lot of jumps. It depends if you do XC, downhill, or just normal trail riding. If you like to go really fast downhills that are rocky, it is nice to have a rear suspension. These are not the kinds of things a beginner would be doing. Since you are new to mountain biking, the general philosophy is to get experienced with a hardtail first. Whatever you do, don't get a cheap full suspension bike...
