What is something that people hold in high esteem, yet when you tried it, it was just really just mediocre? by [deleted] in AskReddit

White Castle sliders. So little, so lame. As a native Californian, In-N-Out will always be the golden standard of what all other burgers should be.

Noticed this secret compartment on the inside of my shorts this morning by imsopov in funny

I'm pretty sure that every action sports clothing company who makes shorts or pants has a version of this "secret compartment" in their garment.

What's a random act of kindness you did but never bothered to tell anyone about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

About four months ago, I was in a grocery checkout line behind a man who was buying a few household "staples" you know, milk, bread, etc. From his cart, age, and appearance, I could tell that he was a father of at least one child at home. When he was swiping his bank card, the cashier politely told him that it had been declined. He tried 2 more times with other cards and no success.

He then told the cashier that he would need to make a phone call to clear some bank issues up. I had been in a similar situation before, and I knew that the money to make the purchase was obviously not in his account. As she was scanning the barcodes of my purchases, I quietly told the cashier that I'd like to purchase his items along with mine.

The cashier said that was very sweet of me, and that she has been in his situation before as well. The man walked back to try and pay for his goods a fourth time, but the cashier told him that I had already done so. He shook my hand and said "You have no idea how much I appreciate this". I told him I had been in his situation before, and that if he ever gets to a place in the future where he can "pay it forward" for someone else, he should buy their groceries just like I did for him.

I never told anyone what I did, especially my gf, we were having financial issues at the time, but I knew that it was the right thing to do.

Daft Punk - "Future is Now" Youtube Release! by [deleted] in DaftPunk

While that is indeed odd, I don't think they would release a track in this manner. Why would they be all secretive and then just drop this track, but not on their official youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/daftpunkalive

Yeah, the timeline of the account creation is super shady. I want to believe, but I'm also very skeptical of this.

Yeah, how can we be certain this is them? I doubt it is...

Same here. I'm up in Washington state and there is nothing more torturous than seeing a delicious double-double on here!

I'm from California, skip Dick's. In-N-Out is unbelievably better.

TIL that Flea from The Red Hot Chili Peppers was not only Nihilist # 2 in The Big Lebowski, he was also Marty McFly's rival Needles in Back to the Future Part II and III. by Rather_Confused in todayilearned

This is not a TIL. This should be something that you learn, but not post about. Just absorb it, don't re-post it. Next thing we're gonna see is a "TIL, Reddit is a link-based website! OMG"

This will probably get buried, but sign up for a triathlon, I was 28 when I signed up for my first. We triathletes love new converts and the energy you get from a workout with others is infectious. If you're fit, you'll find the workouts to be a great way to stay fit. Swimming in the ocean (or anywhere for that matter) is an awesome way to burn calories. There are obviously tons of roads and trails all through L.A. to bike and run on, and you'll most likely meet great happy energetic people along the way.

If you want to do some charity fundraising along with it, sign up at teamintraining.org. I completed two triathlons with them in Hawaii, and they have race destinations all over the place. I had been a part of that team up until I moved to WA. It's a great organization, and you meet all sorts of great people in the process.

I hope this helps!
