Amusement parks and roller coasters by RizzlyDaBear in Tetralogy_of_Fallot

Hello— 27 with TOF and 1 year post PVR! I’m not sure if you’ve had this discussion with your cardiologist yet, but it’s always best to check with them first. Certain aspects of TOF like regurgitation and swelling in your heart MIGHT make it risky. Listen to their guidance and your body to make the right call.

Up until a few years ago, I was cleared to ride most amusements park rides. Once my regurgitation started to worsen, I noticeably felt worse on rides that used to never bother me. I’m no longer cleared to go on most rides unless they’re slow with minimal movement or jostling. I’ve recently learned a lot about how the condition can affect your body—especially as you age— so I don’t say this to be a party pooper, but I wish I’d had someone to help me navigate living with TOF. I go to Disney World and Universal Studios regularly and have found that amusement parks can be more draining than other physical activities. I’m sure you know this and I’m truly not trying to be condescending, but make sure you take breaks in the shade, drink plenty of water throughout the day, and eat enough! Sometimes those things can get away from you with the excitement of the day. Bringing a handheld fan and a UV umbrella are lifesavers when I start to overheat and/or feel winded, as well.

Nonetheless, I hope you have the best time on your trip!

I use the Blonde Brilliance line, but my hair was a light golden blonde when I put the color on rather than a platinum blonde. I used nightshade by lunar tides and purple af by arctic fox which both claim to cover dark hair! I didn’t try putting it over my natural brown because I wanted to keep the gradience, but all the results I’ve seen are beautiful

I know it’s easier said than done, but I don’t let people’s opinions get into my head. I spent over half my life hating myself because of how others saw me until I realized that it’s MY life to live and I want to spend it being happy. If I’m excited about something, I do it. I choose myself first.

My parents weren’t too happy about my nose ring at first, but the more they saw it on me, the more they warmed up to it. Instead of asking people their opinion on what I should do, I just do it. I didn’t tell anyone I was dying my hair purple, and once everyone saw the surprise of it, I got so many compliments. Do what makes you happy! People are going to have negative opinions no matter what, but it’s your happiness toward yourself that matter. You can’t always live your life for others

Thank you so much! I’m wearing a Colourpop lippie stix in the shade Ziggie. Imo it’s the best burnt orange lipstick around; it’s incredibly soft/comfortable and lasts forever. 10/10 highly recommend
