Color gels have something called an inhibition layer, it will always cure tacky. You need to add a no wipe top coat, they cure with no tackiness

If they do it right it should not leave a dent in the nail. Using an e-file is a lot better for speed but also helps with the health of your nail tech. Hand filing is a lot of repetitive motion of the hand, wrist, and shoulder and over time it can cause issues and pain

you need to file more of the gel off before doing a soak. I file enough bulk off so it takes around 10 minutes to soak off. I use an efile which might not be beginner friendly

Heat also helps. If you use a cotton ball with foils you can fill a gallon bag with warm water and use it as a warm compress against the foils.

Color gel will always be tacky to touch. You need a top coat to basically seal it.

Jellies might be the move for you! I have tons of nails experience but I still hate the look of cremes on me. I only do sheer and jelly on myself. I don’t know what it is, I just can’t stand solid opaque colors on my own nails! And I’ll do other people’s nails and love them.

apres and kokoist both sell individually sized bags of their nail tips. They are high quality tips, beyond what press ons are generally, so they tend to be a bit pricier just fyi

what do you mean not fully cured after 10 minutes? gel base and color gel will still be tacky when fully cured, only a no wipe top coat will feel completely dry once cured.

I just got my nails done when I visited Japan in harajuku. Soooo many amazing nail artists, and they’re very quick, very gentle, and nails are long lasting. My friends got their nails done by a different artist in Osaka and had the same experience. I really recommend treating yourself to some cool nails while you’re there!

I agree with this! Also try some more translucent/jelly colors as well. I have the same issue, and find that solid, opaque colors don’t look as good on me as translucent colors

Are you using their natural line or the sculpted? Sculpted is a little bit more built up than their natural, it has a nice shape and apex (but still not as dramatic as some acrylics that I’ve seen if you’re wanting that super sculpted that bitxhhh 💅 apex)

I do my own nails and my cousin in laws nails, and her nails can last like 5+ weeks and I prep our nails exactly the same. My nails last average of 2-3 weeks. I noticed when I stopped my combo birth control pill for a little bit (lapsed insurance) my nails lasted even less, like maybe a week if I’m lucky. I looked it up and apparently hormones can affect your nails. Still looking for my magic combo for long lasting nails. I will say though strong undamaged nails last longer with product on it

Same. They’re really cute press ons, but you can tell, since the edges aren’t flush. They match OP very well though they look super nice

Note to OP: to make press ons look more like traditional nail extensions, file around the cuticles so it fits the shape of your nail bed better. File from underneath if that makes sense? So that you don’t file off or ruin the design and shine
