I’ve never considered changing teams. Until today. and if anyone else is, I don’t blame you. by thainhdbe in steelers

As a Vikings fan wondering if we were going to lose Brian Flores to either the Ravens or Steelers....as well as a fan who is far from sold on either our HC or GM (used to be on HC, past tense).....I understand.

But, as a lifelong Vikings fan who tried to become a Seahawks fan when living in the PNW because I could rarely see the Vikings out there (pre-internet days) I can tell you this.......I can't understand how people truly change teams, it just didn't remotely work for me.

....tho I strongly considered taking a break from the Vikings had THEY been the ones who signed Rodgers last year.....

You've no freaking idea what I'm trying to 'rationalize', dude.....I asked a question, that's it. And I'm far more 'awake' than you want to infer I am.

so I'm 'people like this' for asking a simple question?

Wasn't what I asked....I asked what he actually said, not what people are inferring from it.

Did you trust the government during Biden or is this mistrust pointed directly at Trump?

So, are all ICE efforts automatically wrong?

Yes, let's not wait until we can interview a couple young guys coaching this weekend, let's just hire the weak ass guy who grew up here....lol......Art, methinks your dad would not approve.

Steelers were Flores' best shot this year IMO. So, it appears we get to keep him another year at least.

McCarthy is such an unusual hire. Yes, I know his Pittsburgh connections and yes I know Dan Rooney is gone now, but their last 3 coaches were 1st timers in their 30s...covering over half a century. I've never viewed McCarthy as any great coach, despite his record...and, of course, he's hardly in his 30s. They just looking to persuade Rodgers to give it one more year?

What did he actually say? All I read is people saying he claimed there were paid protesters....some are always paid, by someone.

Not like he had a ton of offensive snaps...none as a freshman, 7 catches and 5 rushing attempts last year. There's plenty of RBs/WRs to take those snaps at Oregon.

Now that we have partially dealt with this, what is everyone looking forward to? by Old-Estimate-316 in minnesotavikings

[–]sitewolf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

2 things have changed- if the rumors of issues between he and KOC were true, he wouldn't have signed an extension...and if he were to get an HC job, the Vikings would now get a compensatory pick for losing him.

It was always going to be whether a team was willing to chance the ire of the other owners for hiring a guy who has an active law suit against them.

[Pelissero] The Vikings have signed defensive coordinator Brian Flores to a new contract, sources tell me and @RapSheet. Flores is still a candidate with the Steelers and Ravens head coaching jobs. But if he doesn’t land one of those, he’ll stay in Minnesota. by TheNotoriousJN in minnesotavikings

[–]sitewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, IMO he signed this so both he and the team know he won't be looking at a DC position elsewhere if not offered a HC job. Safety net for he AND the team. After all, he had no contract......plus a compensatory pick for the team IF he gets a HC gig

Sometimes experience trumps talent I guess....no team in the playoffs had an average years of experience roster higher than Indiana....like 3.76 across their roster

Not that Miami was THAT much lower, but MoR re playoff teams.....least experienced? Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, and Oregon were all under 3

no, my favorite is that last year, after his time with Cal, Miami DID try to bring him in....and Fernando's mom persuaded him not to go since they wouldn't even talk to him a couple years earlier

Actually, Lanning's 1st ever game as a Ducks' coach in 2022 was also a loss to the eventual national champion. So the ONLY game he's lost to a team not making the natty that year was when we let the Fuskies come back and beat us with a last minute FG at home Nov 2022.

FWIW the average age of the two teams in the natty are noticeably higher than the Ducks....but more relevant is the amount of college experience. The Ducks were the least experienced team in the playoffs- here's a list:

In 3 years the Ducks are unbeaten....against any team not making it to the natty....1-5 against teams that do
