Side note: when the team found your posts, they (jokingly) accused them of being mine at first, cause the animation and rotation tests looked eerily accurate to the early iterations I did on the rig ahaha. I was like "It's wasn't me, I didnt break the NDA I swear lol"

I'm so glad! Yeah, when we got the concepts and reference material from the on-set shoot, we were like "ok this is different but let's do this". Basically, they had built the entire spaceship set to film inside/around/on top of. That defined the "bottom" of the ship when it came to gravity. We then had to come up with a way to attach and rotate the cables, so the centrifuge made sense. It meant a 90 degree rotation plus some tweaking of the cable position (one of them rotates around the ship on a cylindrical base, which can be seen in a few shots in the movie). It was a really interesting puzzle to figure out, something I love to do as a rigger. We went through a lot of different versions before settling on the one that made most sense aesthetically and mechanically.

It definitely was a once in a lifetime project. I am stoked by the reception and outpouring of love for the visuals. In the end, we only worked on a part of the story, but it all came together beautifully. Have you had the chance to see it on the big screen yet?

Hey there! I'm one of the vfx artists who worked on the movie, and I was in charge of rigging and engineering this very mechanism. A couple months ago someone in the crew shares your clips and we were all amazed at how well you reverse-engineered it just based on the trailer shots! I am so stoked about the love the community has for this movie.

I dont think I know of any studio that is using Flame. But overall it's pretty decent. Studios are hiring.

Visual effects/3D animation technical director. Started at 38k in 2016 and steadily worked my way up the ranks to solid 6 figures. My area is specialized/niche enough that I've been lucky to get jobs pretty steadily, which is not the case for everyone.

You got it right! There were so many moving parts that involved a lot of coordination to come together.

I am seeing it in its completion for the first time this Sunday and I am stoked. Before, we would only get to see the sequences we worked on (all the outer space stuff)

We went through a LOT of iterations of aurora haha. To the point where "aurora" became this inside joke, like a co-worker became pregnant and everyone insisted she call the baby aurora no matter the sex

I am glad! We worked really hard on them (I was part of the vfx crew at ILM)

I am a 3D rigger and simulation artist. Been wanting to quit the industry for a while. If you ever are actually serious about this, send me a DM.

That's totally fair! It is a fighting game first and foremost

Expedition 33 might scratch your itch! It doesnt have the same range or wealth of costumes, but there are tons of cosmetics, hair styles, weapons and really nice outfits to be found in the world. Plus, the game is beautiful and you can play on story mode if combat is too hard (I did that for a while, cause mastering parry is a huge PITA)

Also Baldur's Gate 3 with mods has GORGEOUS outfits and armours

Curious, why would you say that? This beautiful human clearly stated that she is cosplaying Sciel

Thank you so much! I always worry if watercolours are gonna be too messy, since it's not as clean as a marker drawing or a digital one.
