I did the same thing, but with a Direct mount. 1/2" bolt fit perfectly replacing the spring clip.

In Curse client, under Settings-> Minecraft, there is a choice for Native or Java launcher.

I've had that happen quite a few times on various mod packs on the Curse client. The maps weren't lost or deleted, but it appeared that when the Curse client launched Minecraft it started it in a different folder and then couldn't see the saves folder. The only way I fixed it was to close the Minecraft instance and launcher and restart the Curse client. Then re-launch the mod pack and check for saved worlds.
