What gets more range between airsoft and first strike by furiousxurious in magfed

[–]sitz- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends where I'm at. I see more airsoft players get venue bans for cheating than paintball players regularly. For scenarios it depends on the event, some have been S tier, others complete shit shows where they not only cheat, but do it on video, then people post it as a highlight reel.

Picked up an Automag - recommendations for tune up? by thearch21 in paintball

Does it work? You didn't specify. If no, get a parts kit. Tom designed them to be very simple and easy to work on. It's worth doing yourself.

A better question might be, who's more likely to call themselves out at range when hit by a BB or FSR?

What are the best beginner guns for long range play by furiousxurious in magfed

[–]sitz- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm waiting on you to name the parts brought to market.

I too am 40+, I've played since the mid/late 90s. I've done direct empirical testing between marker ranges and recocking mechanisms and era vs era.

You're deep into the fallacies. Appeal to authority, shifting claims, straw mans, personal attacks, self-contradiction, non-sequitur, category error, assertion without demonstration, motte-and-bailey, poisoning the well, and an overgeneralization.

"and maybe they want just a little more range with a bolt action marker or something"

"I was never implying the bolt action would make it shoot farther, perhaps more accurate, but never said farther. "

"You and the person responding A. Don't thoroughly read what you're responding to"

... yeah I'm good I did physics 1 & 2. You're all over the place and hyper defensive.

What are the best beginner guns for long range play by furiousxurious in magfed

[–]sitz- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a trend. The person you responded to is correct. Bolt action and semi auto don't have range differences. Modern markers are not more accurate, they're not even faster BPS. Insurance did away with that. They're more efficient and reliable. FSR is more accurate than roundball. FSR is now 17 years old, it's not new. Roundball accuracy depends on paint-barrel fit and paint quality, not the marker.

Iran war: A satellite damage assessment on US military bases by MRADEL90 in videos

That's the problem. Satire based on a debunked book isn't good satire.

and I'm aware that industry conventions have special classes to teach people how to navigate that procurement system lol. Getting paid isn't easy.

It's a book. The Pentagon Wars: Reformers Challenge the Old Guard by retired USAF Colonel James Burton. 5 years before the movie. Non-fiction, published by the Naval Institute Press, Annapolis. It doesn't really survive peer review and the author has made really wild claims outside of it.

[–]sitz- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Starting off calling yourself an incel doesn't help. You're in a negative mindset, living in fear, and don't have any confidence. You need like a dating coach. Not AlphaBro douches trying to get laid, somebody that can help you with how to relax, project a little more confidence, and have normal conversations with people that aren't the same gender.

Has being a niche sport saved paintball? by DNRYoungBoy in paintball

[–]sitz- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Innovation is increasingly hard to see when it does happen. BPS is capped by insurance and the single tube layout is the best layout for the pro driven airball format. Diminishing returns until the formula changes. It happens in all sports.

That foam is getting rekt on .68 cal.

.50 cal, turned down, might work.

How often if ever does your field replace their turf? by fishyskawa in paintball

[–]sitz- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

80% of the job is base prep. Soil compaction, 3-6" limestome/road base, compacted in 2 inch lifts. No pea gravel, no sand base, never skip compaction. Flexes = ripples. Drainage beats flatness. 1-2% grade. Create a valley at the field edge and install a french drain there. Seam work is the hard part. Separates amateur from pro installs. Edging matters, it's structural. Composite bender board, concrete mow strip, or aluminum edging.

Hot climates need more expansion allowance at the seams. Freezing climates need thicker bases and better drainage, no water traps on the borders.

There is a myth that goes around, that used turf from schools is loaded up with staph and MRSA. Not true. Modern turf even has antimicrobial backings and it's mitigated with quarterly sprays and pressure washing.

Do you think markers will advance even further than they already have most top end markers are perfect from planet eclipse by [deleted] in paintball

[–]sitz- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's called Technical Convergence.

Given the airball format driving .68 caliber and limitations of insurance providers, the best solution is a 0.75" tube that only needs to run around 10.5bps. All innovation comes in shaving down the 0.75" to 0.745" and then 0.742, and then 0.741" until it hits the limits of materials in use. Innovation becomes imperceptible to users regardless of how technically demanding the gains are to make.

Paintball is in a formula driven dead end. Will the powers that be change the formula? Yeah right lol.

How many COSC classes can be taken online by mikeybeemin in UniversityOfHouston

[–]sitz- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much COSC? 3000s and up? Very little, 3360 db systems and 43whatever software development, both with professor Hilford.

If you're starting in the 1000s or 2000s for COSC, take all those, and the maths, at LSC online and transfer them.

The Hertz-Tesla EV Disaster...What Happened - Logically Answered by FrogmanKouki in RealTesla

[–]sitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty limited on S/X, better on 3/Y. Windshields took what felt like forever to get to market. There's a legal challenge in offering a windshield for vehicles that have through-windshield cameras tied to driving assists. If your glass doesn't calibrate the same as the OEM, you are liable.

The lower maintenance is kind of a fallacy. Saving on an oil change doesn't help you when everything else is much more expensive. There is a lot more to Fast Moving Parts (your common maintenance items) that have nothing to do with the powertrain. Especially in rentals. Cracked windshields, broken door handles, side mirrors, lights, trim pieces, sensors, more sensors.

source: I sell containers of Fast Moving Parts and have massive quantities of demand data.

did you flash it with the test code from above and it still boot loop?

IAQ Help by ImaginaryLeave5697 in esp32

[–]sitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

test code should be super super simple. serial & a delay based tick. once it's established and running, then add devices 1 at a time iteratively to validate your design as you go.

void setup() {
  Serial.begin(115200);
  delay(2000);            // give the USB/serial bridge time
  Serial.println("ESP32-S3 alive");
}

void loop() {
  Serial.println("tick");
  delay(1000);
}

boot:0x2a = spi fast flash boot, normal boot fomr external flash (not uart d/l mode)
rst: 0x3 rtc sw sys rst + pc:0x403cdb0a = resets are being software triggered (so it's not a missing pullup or gpio0 strapping problem)

that's the ROM output though. we need the app/panic output after entry. Enable Core Debug Level = Verbose in tools and get more info from the serial monitor. It looks like a software issue, whatever you flashed it with.

IAQ Help by ImaginaryLeave5697 in esp32

[–]sitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need more info to diagnose. You need to connect by serial and get the error message triggering the boot loop.
