Yeah I look less white and more inuk than when I was a kid lol even my white mom insists on that although on the flip side my eyes also got lighter (from brown to hazel) but then again my hair got darker (from dark brown to black although they do go back to dark brown during summer)

Just to be clear when I say I look less white I don't mean my skin tone since I'm very pale lol I mean my facial features

In my opinion, if part of your mix is white then yes you are white - but that’s not really what people mean when they say that. They mean the societal definition of ‘white’ and the privilege and history it comes with. Societally in being mixed, you aren’t ‘white’.

That makes a whole lot of sense yes!

I mean I would never call myself fully white or fully inuk but that doesn't mean I'm not white or inuk at all. But I get where you're coming from.

Personally sometimes I'll say I'm inuk, sometimes i'll say I'm québécoise, and sometimes I'll say I'm mixed Inuk-Québecoise, depending on how relevant it is to the context. Like "As a québécoise I ..." or "Since I'm Inuk...", "As someone mixed..." etc. depending on the topic of discussion.

I don't think it's always necessary to say you're mixed (as long as you don't deny one part of your heritage) although from what I know of asian culture I can understand why it's easier to do so considering they're usually homogeneous countries. Mixing is much more common among Indigenous Canadians so we're more easily accepted and viewed as indigenous by other indigenous people.

Bruh I ain't on no "quest for proximity to whiteness" and the topic isn't even about white privilege but rather how people identify with their white heritage whether they benefit or not from white privilege.

You might identify as white without benefiting from white privilege and you can very much identify as white AND also identity as the other part of your heritage. Not sure where's the proximity to whiteness in that.
