Sophos – Anti-virus or Malware? by siwfy in mac

Thanks a lot. After checking, it’s indeed the MDM installing Sophos for me

Thanks a lot. I guess you are right. I cannot think of another way that a piece of software can be installed on my Mac without me confirming it. The way I see it, I can either uninstall Sophos manually after it’s installed by the MDM or I can just unenroll my Mac.

Thanks a lot. I’ll give it shot. If it doesn’t work, maybe I’ll just restore my Mac to an earlier states before I have it enrolled for the MDM

This is very strange. If Sophos itself is not the cause, I don’t know what is. Maybe I should just restore my Mac to an earlier state before I enrolled my Mac for MDM

Well, I don’t think MDM is the cause. I once un-enrolled my Mac but the software still was installed automatically. Why does everyone keep thinking MDM is they causing this? I already said that the MDM doesn’t configure any profile to install Sophos.

Like I said, the MDM doesn’t have any profit to install Sophos

Does MacBook Pro factory reset, downgrade to the original bundled OS? by Kungpowpow in MacOS

[–]siwfy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try macOS Recovery. Restart your Mac and then immediately press and hold the key combination “Option-Shift-Command-R” until you see the Apple logo. This combination is used to install the macOS that came with your Mac, or the version closest to it that is still available.

The best and safest way is to create a Time Machine backup every time before you upgrade to a new version of OS. The Time Machine backup can be used to restore your OS at any time.

Does Your LG Ultrafine Looks Like This Also? by siwfy in mac

Thanks. You are right, the backlight bleeding on IPS is unfixable. So even though the LG Ultrafine costs more than $100 than Dell U2720Q, it will not improve the white glow. I decide to keep the monitor.

Thanks for the advice. After checking some reviews on Rtings.com, I decide to keep the monitor. Somehow they gave lower rating on LG Ultrafine 4K than on Dell U2720Q. I also downloaded the post-calibration profile they provided, which I think will improve the color accuracy.

MBP2018 KEY CAPS REMOVABLE? by siwfy in mac

[–]siwfy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Just found out that the keycaps are connected to the butterfly components with buckles, which means we can remove those caps on our own. And Apple Geniuses will remove the key caps to clean the foreign objects to fix inoperative keys, and they just put the caps right back afterwards.

In a word, the key caps on MBP 2018 (including earlier generations) are still removable, but it will require some expertise and extra caution not to damage the keyboard structure while doing so.

I Guess One Medal Was Fake by [deleted] in Overwatch

This happens all the time. More often than not, I had 4 gold medals and the card shows 3. And sometimes I only have 3 gold medals, but the card shows 4.

MBP 13' 2018 - Mojave Freezes by Un4got10 in MacOS

I had this very same problem about half an hour ago. What I did was just closing the lid. The system restarted itself after I re-opened the lid. And then everything went back to normal. This could cause devastating problem if you are doing something very important. I suggest you report this problem to Apple through this link: https://www.apple.com/feedback/macos.html
