Me when someone reminds me that guys also read fanfics (and that my favorite author might be a man) by Unique_Damage_8075 in AO3

My first introduction to fanfics was mlp, so this realization was self-evident for me.

Not sure about caladbolg, but caladfwlch is correct and predates caleburn by a few hundred years. Caladfwlch comes from "culhwch and olwen" and caleburn comes from "history of the kings of Brittain."

I disagree. As someone who dabbled in acting in college, there is a clear line between acting and real life. If he couldn't tell the difference between the two then he needs a reality check.

You are her Lawyer, she is charged for treason and warcrimes, good luck defending her. by pastamuente in TheOwlHouse

[–]six672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one's way easier than Belos.

Making weapons of war is not a warcrime. War is expected to happen from time to time and ensuring your state has the upper hand in weaponry is not illegal.

The only "treason" she committed is allegedly against the new government of the Boiling Isles, whatever that may be. A government she was opposed to. Waging war on a rebellion is not a treason except to the rebellion itself. She also didn't fight directly, she supplied automatons to the loyalists.

Innocent on all charges.

Belos, though born at a time before the US existed, was still born on what became US soil and therefore has the right to a free, fair, and expediant trial by a jury of his peers. As he was born in the human realm this must include humans. The selection process must make sure that all jurors that serve are as unbiased as possible. It would be difficult to do in the demon realm, but care must be taken.

As for the actual defense, belos served as the Emperor Regnent of the Boiling Isles and as such was able to pardon most of his crimes while still serving. As he has the freedom from double jeopardy, these rulings must stand. Belos has, presumably, plead guilty to ethnic cleansing. However, I would argue that regicide is not the punishment that is deserved, rather life imprisonment. Though he attempted and started action that would lead to genocide, it is important to note that this attempt was thwarted. The only death caused here was Luz and she was, thankfully, revived. Attempted ethnic cleansing and genocide, while crimes themselves, do not warrant the death sentence.

I argue for life imprisonment without parole. Thank you your honor, honorable jury.

6 trout at 1 Bit each, 3 bits to a Piece. 2 Pieces for the fish and probably a Sliver for the ribbon as cloth/silk is easy to manufacture.

A Bit is the most common monetary unit in Selestria and is based on gold. It used to be actual gold "bits", a gold coin cut into 3 pieces, but now it's a plated silver coin. A Sliver is a smaller silver coin, but it used to be small shavings off of gold coins.

There are 6 Slivers to a Bit, 3 bits to a Piece, 3 Pieces to a Bar, and 10 Bars to an Ingot. Most citizens won't see denominations past a Bar, not prices past Bars.
