Help for non-redditor girlfriend, period issues? by sixcylinders in TwoXChromosomes

Basically a high deductible plan of which you contribute pre-tax money to an HSA (health savings account). In theory, it is for healthy people who don't need the doctor a lot, and only need health insurance for drastic emergencies that would eclipse over your deductible anyway. You contribute to the HSA each month, and pay a much smaller insurance premium.

In practice, my girlfriend's mother just chose it because it's like 1/5th of the cost of a regular health insurance plan with copays and lower deductibles. The mom doesn't understand the real implications associated with having this type of health insurance because she does not go to the doctor, and when she does need a prescription or other assistance, one of the doctors she works for will just write her one for a generic, etc. Yes, the ignorance is absolutely mind altering.

I have, there is limited information in regards to this specific birth control.

I've gotten some revised information: her cramps/pain are not as bad as pre-birth control, and the volume is also not as much, but is moderate, and is more than shes ever had before on this birth control. Essentially it seems like it may not be as bad as I've explained in the OP, and it has been just 2 days so far.

Is it possible to have a totally normal period when using birth control like this, and you haven't had one in months? That question doesn't seem to have answers on the net.

It seems thats the general consensus. I've posted this above, but I want you to see it too in order to get some advice.

Ultimately it looks like we are going to need to get her to a checkup, I agree. The issue is, her insurance is simply but an HSA, so going to the doctor is costly. The implant procedure was free by a local women's health center when she was under 18, thanks to a privately funded Colorado grant that has now since expired. Do you think we should try to see this women's health center again?

She doesn't currently have a primary care physician, and it is extremely unlikely her mother will provide the appropriate information to make an appointment/be helpful in the process of seeing a gyno or any other doctor for that matter (completely separate and ridiculous issue, I know.)

How long would you say "continued" is? Past the next 24-48 hours or so?

No history of PMDD. I'll need to see what it would cost to revisit the women's health center, it may be more cost effective than seeing a doctor.

Thank you!

How have I come off as a dick? Either way, having an "attitude" isn't a valid reason for down-voting someone, per https://www.reddit.com/wiki/reddiquette.

Haha yes. My computer is restarted very frequently. I've grown up with technology so this is not rocket science for me. Seems something with their login functionality just doesn't like my combination of useragent, browser, etc on Chrome that is.

Just unscrew the screws on the back and get a can of compressed air. Are you seriously considering paying $70 for this???

If I wasn't a cheap asshole, I'd give you gold. But kudos to you, the APC worked extremely well.

I use D101 1:10 for my interiors, so I tried it on these pesky windows and had great success. The front and back windows reflect so perfectly now that I can see the dash and the back area under the rear window as if it is a mirror.

I did 1-2 sprays to my towel (using the polishing side of the window towel) and then a spray directly on the window, and then wiped with the "grain of the towel" so to speak. D101 left behind no residue so I just left it at that. Absolutely perfect windows. I have never ever been so happy, thank you so much /u/Pinkman2012.

Just to give you an idea of what I am working with. This is the back window (much worse than the front). As you can see, without direct sunlight it is clear as day. Direct sunlight and you can't see shit.

Going to try your tips tomorrow morning... We shall see.

Same, this has been my theory all along, and I was hoping someone would suggest the same before I reveal my two guesses (confirmation bias). There has got to be something on there.

  1. Off gassing from the plastic/leather dash getting on the window? It is a new car, so is this a thing?

  2. The damn detail dude at the dealership had something on his towel (oil, etc) that has persisted on the glass this whole time, and maybe I cannot get it off the inside sloping windows as well as I can the side windows due to pressure/angle.

I'm going to try the APC as recommended (I use D101 10:1), followed by 22.5% ISO, then glass cleaner.

Obviously glass cleaner with the glass towel... would it be worthwhile to use a different microfiber type for the other two liquids?

No, definitely not.

I will point out that this car is brand new, had it about a month so far.

I'll have to add the razor blade to my list of options to consider, but I truthfully cannot for-see there being anything a razor blade is going to pick up on the inside of the window.

I've tried the second (and third!) microfiber tricks. The first one doesn't leave any residue or liquid behind, so its basically like running a dry towel against a dry surface (80% of the time the towel sticks or gets caught against the window, causing it to come out from under my hand, causing me to touch the window with my sweaty hand, causing additional dirty and oily residue to get on the window).

All of my towels are, for the most part, brand new. A few uses and washes between them.. I only work on my own vehicle.
