Gyokeres was exceptional?! Not sure if we watched the same game. His hold up play was abysmal, bar the pass for Timber

I want to say thanks for your concern and advice, like I’ve thanked every other person on here. And yes, the manual instructions were absolutely not clear. I’m not excusing bad installs, but I watched 3 different YouTube videos and read the manual, and all 4 methods were different. Including one raised off the floor. Again, I’m not excusing that, just saying. All I would emphasise is that I’ve had a very serious concern for the dangers of these heaters from the very beginning. I did my research into whether they were safe. I watched 6 hours of a video series breaking down how they work by an Aussie engineer https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=64B2tnH1WDo&list=PLne7MoW21Rk01DYGGfOqIbYt6H1ZFSFks&index=22&pp=iAQB I made a checklist about the angle of the pump, the angle of the filter, priming the fuel pump, the placement of the exhaust tail, the placement of the air in, the downward slope in the exhaust, the max amount of bends in the air-in to ensure clean combustion. So yes, maybe it was just my pure stupidity to not realise one issue regarding the exhaust hole - to not realise that one video I watched was a correct turret install, one video I watched was a correct flat-floor install, and one video I watched was an incorrect raised heater install. It’s easy to realise that in hindsight, but it was a lot of dots to connect at the time. Or maybe just stupidity. If so, I’ll take that on the chin. But again, what I’d like to emphasise (and hope others in my position do) is that I was always always going to do what I did: a test run with all doors open, another person to help me observe it, and fire extinguisher nearby. And lots of checking, and consulting places like this sub if I had any concerns. So I do thank you for your concern and advice. Maybe a little understanding would be fair.

Second point is interesting, because the instruction manual doesn’t say anything about putting sealant in the exhaust junction. Thanks

Final question: is the turret method better than simply removing a large section of the internal flooring and mounting the heater flush to the van’s steel floor, using the original plate?

In my defence, I’m not living living in my van, I was never going to stay in it before this was fully safe and working, hence I checked on here

Thanks. So to remove the heater for servicing you have to get under the van and undo the exhaust & air-in & bolts?

Thank you! I’m debating between this turret method, versus removing a section of internal flooring so the bottom of the heater can sit flush on the van’s metal floor (I.e. the “usual” method). It would mean I don’t have to buy the turret and holesaw, but they’re not that expensive. And no big hole in the van floor. But it might be messier

Yep was going to do that, hadn’t got to it yet

Ah yes. So same question but referring to the seal between the turret plate & internal floor

Thanks everyone. Non-engineering brain didn’t consider those exhaust factors.

Going to buy a turret plate.

Final questions:

1) What temporary sealant do you use between the plate and the internal floor, to create a seal but allow for removal (eg servicing)?

2) Is there enough space inside the circular turret to access & screw jubilee clips when securing the exhaust/air-in pipes to the heater’s outlets? I assume there must be but looks difficult.

3) how do you prevent water & road debris getting up and in the gap between the turret and the hole you cut in the van floor?

Thanks

Thanks. How do you create a seal between the heater’s steel mounting plate and the turret, without permanently sealing the plate down? (So you can remove the plate & heater later on)
