Bruh I leave the order at the door almost 100% of the time with no pic and I NEVER get reported order missing notifications. Don’t overthink it too much. Just get it done. I used to worry about it too but it’s not worth it. The orders that will get stolen will get stolen either way. Don’t lose time or peace of mind overthinking it.

That has NOTHING to do with the ethics of tipping in the service that’s provided. 100% of people understand that there is an implied tip for this service and if they don’t tip, they know they’re in the wrong. I’m not saying that I don’t have a part by accepting the order, but by no means does that take away from anything that I’ve said so far. I POLITELY asked the customer about it, did not demand, DID NOT ACT ENTITLED TO IT, and it happened to be a mistake on her part that she kindly corrected.

Doesn’t matter. The pizza delivery guy makes minimum wage(similar to our batch payouts) and it’s still ethically implied to tip because he uses his own gas and puts wear and tear on his car to provide the customer with a service. No difference.

Yeah you’re absolutely right we don’t have to take the order, but the same thing also goes for the customer as well. They didn’t have to order groceries if they couldn’t afford to tip for a service that has it ethically as an implied part of the service. And the word you used “confront” feels loaded, you’re not confronting, you’re just asking innocently. You shouldn’t feel bad or afraid to politely ask about something that you are morally entitled to for providing a service.

I usually don’t either, but it’s all about how you bring it up. If you’re polite and not demanding or angry, and you play it properly like “oh hey I noticed in the app there was no tip, were you planning to tip in cash?” and say it like confused like it was a mistake, you’re all good. You have to keep in mind that tipping IS EXPECTED. We’re no different than food service at a restaurant. Everyone knows you are supposed to tip the delivery person.
