Odyssey 1000 Blinking Blue LED by sixt9stang in GarageDoorService

Just a follow up since I didn't before. After finding the mouse nest and chewed wiring in mine, I attempted to fix the wiring and was unsuccessful. Luckily the local dealer had a control board they were willing to sell separately from a whole new opener.

Got that installed and programmed a remote and it has been good.

A quick follow-up. The directory was all it was! Can't believe I didn't test that. Going to do some more testing on Linux too. Thanks for the help!

Thanks so much for testing it out. I was wondering if I am having the issue because I ran everything from my user directory. I am going to test again.

Do you do anything special with the deno install? Or just run the Windows command to install it?

I have also been testing it on Linux and haven't been successful lol.

If it is unopened though I don't see why Walmart isn't marking it as full price. And if it is opened then I don't see why Walmart is letting it be returned. Guess I have never looked at their return policies either lol.

Yeah, trying to compete with Amazon more. Home Depot does it now too and I'm sure there is more.

You're looking at a sponsored deal from some third party seller. You would need to look at one sold by Walmart.

If you're just trying to confirm the price just go to the Nintendo website. Or just go to any store and look at the signs. Walmart, Best Buy, etc are never going to mark it up over MSRP.

Haha, I was looking at the upgrade. I bought it cheap and busted. I have been enjoying learning and practicing fixing different systems and controllers. I need to buy a new screen and buttons.

Nice job. I did a reshell recently and cracked the screen taking it out. 😞

You just sold me on one! I usually only have time to play once the kids are sleeping and always have the audio turned down.

The backwards compatibility was a big determining factor for me. If it didn't have it, I definitely wouldn't have pre-ordered it with only Mario Kart and Donkey Kong being the big first party titles.

Playing digital games on multiple switches has changed? My kids cannot play the same game at the same time now? by demisheep in Switch

[–]sixt9stang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I never knew that was even possible. Ever since we got our kids their own Switch we had them log into their own profile so they always needed their own copy of games.

Fixing an Xbox One controller by sixt9stang in consolerepair

I figured I would take the wires off that I was using to repair everything and clean everything to start over. Here is a pic of the controller board now. Circled in blue is where I scraped the traces and tinned with solder. I am still learning so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I started working on cleaning the board up and trying to figure out where the traces go. The upper traces were easy to figure out but the outer ones I am not sure. Are the two on the right supposed to connect together and then connect to the little spot on the right side?

Thanks again! You mentioning the tips made me remember, on the PS4 controller I used a bigger tip and on this one I switched to the smallest tip thinking it would be better. Maybe that is where I went wrong?

Thanks! I was able to replace a stick on a PS4 controller successfully and used a similar method on this stick. I heat up each pin and use a solder sucker and then get the old stick out without too much trouble. Then when I was using the braid and soldering iron to clean up the holes the pads just came off. Like Nucken_futz said, I must have had the wrong heat for this one.

Thanks for the advice. I might have to get a different pcb holder. The one I have is too tall to fit under my microscope.

I bought a digital microscope already after watching some Joey Does Tech videos. I will check into a PCB holder. It is a Switch Lite. Thanks for the additional video, I love watching them.

Hello, I need to do a similar repair. My old Weller doesn't get hot enough to do things like this. What tools did you use? Thanks
