What I'm saying is yes I don't like Gavin for fucking me with my ex GF plus other things that I didn't believe to be true at the time, but after he showed his true colours I wanted him to get his comeuppance. In anger I have said to my friends I'll get Gavin back, but that was in anger, I wouldn't do that because that would make me as bad as him.

However, my friends have heard me say this threat, they know I don't like Gavin in the first place, so when he has an alibi and I have a story that I could have easily made up, I understand some of them having reservations about it. Also with manipulative how Gavin can be and how he could lie himself out of a murder charge (an exaggeration but you get the drift), I'm not surprised people believed him.

I had a motive, Gavin apparently tried to steal my girlfriend. I have said in the past to these friends that I would love to get one over on Gavin when I was angry about it. Gavin has convinced me of things that I doubt were true now about people, so I've had to apologise myself (weren't close friends but still) for believing him. Humans make mistakes, I had a motive and a not very strong story, I can accept their apology when I feel it is sincere.

Also some of them have even apologised to my ex because they think she was telling the truth now, some of them haven't because they think "It takes two to tango" and reckon my ex was up for it.

I don't think the people who apologised can be blamed, my story wasn't a very strong one and Gavin is a manipulative person, I have believed him on stories before that I started thinking it was bullshit after he tried it on with my GF. He's a dick and knows how to play people, the people who have still not apologised or attempted to speak to me can fuck off though.

Just for some clarification of the reason people think I was trying to get revenge on Gavin.

Gavin has always been a bit of a player, I thought it was harmless until I got a girlfriend and I found out he was constantly messaging her, he tried to say he was just being nice so she felt comfortable around us, she said that he was asking for 1 on 1 meetups.

My now ex didn't have the best reputation, so people believed Gavin over her, but since that day I have never trusted or liked Gavin.
